The main attractions are the magnificent Sun Temple of King Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari. Discovered in 1813, these temples were nearly buried in sand. In 1960, with the assistance of the Egyptian government and UNESCO, they were relocated to prevent submersion by the Nile’s rising waters. Ramses II constructed the temple primarily to glorify himself, as evidenced by a mural inside depicting his renowned victory at the Battle of Kadesh. To the north of Ramses’ temple lies the Nefertari Temple, built by Ramses II for his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari, among his 200 wives and concubines. After the visit, you will return to Aswan, fly back to Cairo, and be driven to your hotel.

Amazing People Working with Sun Pyramid Tours - The tour guide, Kareem was amazing. He was engaged from the minute he met us. He shared his wealth of knowledge with us about Abu Simbel. He was funny and we really enjoyed spending the day with him. Also, it was my husband’s birthday and Nada, who works for Sun Pyramid Tours, went out of her way to get a birthday cake for my husband. We had a birthday party for him right before we flew back to Cairo. I would highly recommend the tour company and Kareem for a tour guide. They all made our experience wonderful.
