Abu Simbel Temple Complex - A representative will collect you from your hotel in Abu Simbel or from Abu Simbel airport, and you will be transported to your Lake Nasser Cruise for embarkation and check-in. Boarding the Cruise is at 1:00 PM, followed by lunch on the Cruise. The Abu Simbel temple, located on the west bank of the Nile River between the first and second cataracts, is one of Egypt’s most iconic ancient sites. It features two temples carved into a mountainside, constructed by Pharaoh Ramesses II (1303-1213 B.C). Today, Abu Simbel is not in its original location. “Due to the construction of a new High Dam at Aswan in the early 1960s, the temples were dismantled and relocated in 1968 to a desert plateau 64 meters (about 200 feet) above and 180 meters (600 feet) west of their original site. The original location is now submerged.”
Sail to Kasr Ibrim – Explore Amada - Sail to Wadi El Seboua
Explore Wadi El Seboua Temple – Sail to Aswan
Temple of Wadi El-Sebua - Enjoy breakfast onboard your Cruise, followed by an early visit to Wadi El Seboua. Visiting Wadi El Seboua during your Lake Nasser tour is an unforgettable experience, as the area hosts several relocated ancient sites. Wadi El Seboua now features two “New Kingdom” temples, along with the Temple of Dakka and the Temple of Maharraqua. Most visitors aim to explore all these structures, often dedicating a full day to the site. Many start with the renowned “Valley of the Lions,” a sphinx-lined avenue leading to the older of the two “New Kingdom” temples. This temple, built by Amenhotep III, is dedicated to a Nubian version of the god Horus. It is a rock-cut temple with an intact brick pylon. The courtyard and main hall remain, along with some impressive paintings. Lunch will be served onboard, then sail to Aswan.
Explore Kalabsha Temple – Disembark from the Cruise
Kalabsha Temple - Breakfast will be served onboard your ship. Then, join your Egyptologist tour guide to explore the Temple of Kalabsha. Located within view of the High Dam, Kalabsha Temple is often the first stop for any Lake Nasser cruise. It was relocated from its original site 30 miles to the south after the dam’s construction. The temple’s construction began at the end of the Ptolemaic Dynasty and was completed under Roman Emperor Augustus. This results in a fascinating blend of Egyptian and Roman imagery, featuring Roman emperors and pharaohs worshipping Egyptian gods. The temple was dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis. Later, you will check out from your cruise, and our representative will transfer you to your hotel in Aswan.
