Epic choquequirao trek - My wife and I had a fantastic trek to choquequirao via Trexperience. The company thought of everything to help make our trip unforgettable, starting with an excellent guide - David. He was so kind and knowledgeable; he really made all the difference to add important details of history, nature, and culture, as well as to keep us moving. Beto and Erika were our chefs and made us fantastic 5 course meals in completely remote places, I was truly awe struck at their ability to put together such delicious food. What is even better, my wife and I usually take a food tour at every place we visit, but now we don’t have to because we sampled so much of classic Peruvian quinine along our remote and rugged trek. I really can’t say enough how amazed I was by this team, they work so hard and are all excellent! The trek of Choquequirao was magnificent. We are fit and avid hikers, which definitely helped us because this was probably the toughest hiking we’ve done. If you don’t fancy yourself to be in good shape, the 5 day option might be a better fit. The ruins are great but the combination with nature and remoteness brings an indescribable charm. I’d implore you to stay at Marampatta village during your trek because the setting is just amazing. My wife and I do happy with our choice to do this trek and I’m sure you will be as well. Many thanks to David, Beto, and Erika!!

An Unforgettable Trek — Outstanding Crew from Start to Finish - The Choquequirao trek was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life, and our crew made it absolutely exceptional. Every single person on this team showed up with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine love for what they do. Elias (Guide) — At one point, Elias literally got kicked by a horse and didn’t miss a beat. Kept smiling, kept leading, never complained. That tells you everything about the kind of person he is. He was also a fantastic photographer and made sure we captured moments we’ll treasure forever. Bacilio (Cook) — I honestly don’t know how he did it, but Bacilio turned a remote mountain trail into a gourmet dining experience. Every meal was a feast — flavorful, hearty, and made with care. On top of that, he’s an absolute beast on the trail. A true legend. Abel (Helper) — Abel was a trooper through and through. Always friendly, always one step ahead, and never once did he make you feel like any request was too much. His positive energy was contagious throughout the entire trek. Ruben (Horseman) — This man climbed a mountain in sandals. Not hiking boots — sandals. The kind of quiet, understated strength that leaves you speechless. Incredibly kind and reliable every step of the way. If you’re considering the Choquequirao trek, do it — and make sure you’re lucky enough to get this crew. They made a hard trail feel like an adventure worth every step.

Trek of a lifetime - We had a once in a lifetime experience on this trek to Choquequirao. Sebastian, Oscar, Joseph and Siran really made this experience unforgettable. The food was delicious and really varied, and we learned so much about Inca’s traditions. Choquequirao is also a fantastic place to visit. It is a challenging trek but it is so much worth it. We spend 5h exploring the ruins of the twin’s sister of Machu Pichu and we barely saw anyone there or on the road. I would highly recommend this trek if you’re in search of an adventure, want to explore some Inca ruins 2 times bigger than Machu Picchu, and want a knowledgeable and attentive team.

Unforgettable trip - We had a fantastic experience with Sebastian, Oscar, Joseph and Siran and would 100% reccommend the trip! The views were spectacular and there was plenty of time to explore Choquequirao. The hike is tough but the team kept us safe, made us feel very welcome and prepared delicious food. Sebastian was very knowledgeable about everything from the flora and fauna to Inca history and current local culture so it was valuable to learn a lot from him. I would definitely love to do another trip with the company!

From Overwhelmed to Amazed—TreXperience Delivered! - I had the opportunity to travel to Lima this past March for a business conference, and since I was already in Peru, I knew I couldn’t miss the chance to visit Machu Picchu—especially since I’m not sure when I’ll have the opportunity to return. While researching tour options online, I quickly became overwhelmed by the number of companies and itineraries available. It was difficult to determine which experience would be the best fit. That’s when I came across TreXperience, and I’m so glad I did. They offered a variety of well-structured tours, and I ultimately chose the 4-day/3-night package. From the very beginning, my experience was excellent. My initial contact, Jazmin, was incredibly helpful—responsive, knowledgeable, and patient in answering all of my questions both before and during the trip. The guides—Roger, Monica, and Royer—were outstanding. Each of them was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They were always punctual for pickups and made every transition—whether from hotel, train, or other transportation—seamless and stress-free. What could have been a complicated and overwhelming travel experience turned into a smooth, enjoyable, and truly memorable journey. TreXperience did an exceptional job organizing every detail. I would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip to Machu Picchu. They made the entire experience easy, enjoyable, and unforgettable.

First Rate in Every Way! - Our TreXperiwnce Team was as good as it gets!! Could not recommend the company more highly for their overall quality and attention to detail and experience. Our guide Elias was top notch in every way. Very knowledgable, kind, positive, funny, and talkative without being overly so. A pure joy to be with for 4 days. The team of cooks, Leandrio and Elias, went over and above to spoil us three times a day. Always so clean, and never the same dish twice. An amazing way to experience Peruvian cuisine. And our horseman, Boris, made it all happen carrying our gear from camp to camp with great skill. The reviews are all great for a reason- this company does it right across tho board!! Thank you TreXperience for an amazing journey.

Four day trek to Choquequirao - With all of the positive reviews that I read for TreXperience, our expectations were very high. We were incredibly happy to have those expectations exceeded treXperience was efficient, friendly, competent, and everything went very smoothly. We had a fantastic four days. Our guide Elias could not have been a better guide. He was patient and kind, inspired us to keep going on the steep hills, and shared lots of historical and archaeological knowledge. Our chef Leandro prepared meals that you cannot believe were possible while trekking for four days. His assistant Elias was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our mule master Boris was cheerful and efficient. The whole team could not have been a better team for us. We felt spoiled and blessed. I cannot recommend TreXperience highly enough.

Trip of a Lifetime! - Trip of a lifetime! We did the 4-day, 3-night TreXperience Trek with Gary (lead guide) and Sergio (support guide) and “Chef Ratatouille” Balbino starting Sept 8th, 2025. Length of trip was just about right - long enough to get good hikes but not so long that it was exhausting. Gary was attentive, knowledgeable, thoughtful, organized and just a ton of fun. Loved all the stories he shared. My husband, the “caboose” of the team, nursed bad knees, and Sergio was indispensable, patiently guiding and supporting him every challenging step of the way. Chef Balbino and his crew produced culinary wonders that were beautifully plated and so very tasty. Each meal was an incredible experience - thank you for carefully tending to my gluten free status! The trek itself was demanding but, oh, so scenic, with more historic sites than I had anticipated along the way to Machu Picchu. Learned so much about the incredible Incan civilization! The porters had our tents, pads, sleeping bags and duffel bags set up at each campsite when we arrived each day. Thankfully, a very clean and “pleasant” porta-potty in a tented hut was set up at each overnight stop - yay! It helped my husband and I, at 70 and 66, to have trained the summer before so we could maximize the enjoyment of the trek. Thank you to Gary and Sergio for helping us capture many priceless photos with our team! I am so thankful we booked this trek with such experienced and genuinely caring and accommodating personnel. Have been raving about TreXperience as we recount our grand adventure to Machu Picchu. Best adventure for the cost. Thank You!

Highly Recommend this challenging but rewarding hike - Smooth experience from the start. The office team are quick and efficient with their communications. Our guide Sebastian was so lovely, positive and helpful and tried to make sure we had the best experience possible! The trek, although challenging, is lovely as it's extremely scenic, tranquil and once we reached the Choquequirao site we basically had the whole area to ourselves to explore. The food was also amazing and varied - big shoutout to Oscar - we never ate the same meal twice and they catered to dietary and taste preferences.
