• Dokk1 - Dokk1 is a public library and civic center located on Aarhus’s waterfront, inaugurated in 2015 at the harbor where the Aarhus River meets the bay. The terraces offer a panoramic view of the revitalized docklands.
• Latin Quarter - The Latin Quarter is the oldest section of central Aarhus, featuring a network of narrow cobblestone streets lined with charming painted houses, unique shops, and cafes. It is a delightful path from the harbor to the cathedral.
• Aarhus Domkirke - Aarhus Cathedral (Aarhus Domkirke) is situated on Store Torv and is recognized as Denmark’s longest and tallest church. Originally constructed in the late 12th century in Romanesque style and later rebuilt in Gothic form, it houses an impressive collection of medieval frescoes.
• Åboulevarden - Åboulevarden is the promenade along the Aarhus River. The river, once covered by a road for decades, was uncovered in the 1990s, and its banks are now adorned with bars and restaurants. The Vadestedet crossing is located at its western end.
• Lille Torv - Lille Torv, known as the Little Square, is located just west of the larger Store Torv in Aarhus’s medieval core. This small open area is surrounded by shops and cafes and serves as a junction between the old market squares and pedestrian streets.
• Our Lady Church - The Church of Our Lady (Vor Frue Kirke) on Vestergade originated from a medieval Dominican priory. Beneath the church lies a crypt church, rediscovered in the 1950s, which is one of Scandinavia’s oldest stone-built church rooms.
• Stroeget - Stroeget is the main pedestrian shopping street in Aarhus, connecting the old market squares with the station area. It is the city’s busiest area, lined with shops, department stores, and street performers.
• ARoS Aarhus Art Museum - ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is among the largest art museums in Northern Europe. Its roof features Your Rainbow Panorama, a circular walkway of colored glass by Olafur Eliasson, opened in 2011 and visible throughout the city. Museum entry is not included in this tour.
• Den Gamle By - Den Gamle By is an open-air museum composed of historic Danish townhouses that were dismantled and reassembled here. The tour concludes at its entrance; visitors can admire the timbered facades from outside or purchase a ticket to enter, which is not included.
