Day 1
TBILISI CITY TOUR AND OLD TOWN MTSKHETA
The tour starts at 10:00 A.M. with a visit to the Trinity Cathedral, the tallest church in Georgia, where thousands of children are baptized annually. After visiting Sameba, enjoy a stroll along Sharden Street and Erekle II Street, which are lined with charming café-bars. Cross the Bridge of Peace and take a cable car ride up to the Narikala Fortress, built in the 4th century. Visit the Mother of Georgia statue, then walk down to the Old Mosque, continue to the Legvtakhevi area, and explore the small canyon and waterfall. Discover the bathhouse quarter – Abanotubani, where bathhouses still use naturally hot sulfur water. Conclude the old city tour at Meidan Square. Drive to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia, to visit UNESCO sites: Jvari Monastery from the 6th century and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral from the 11th century. Considered a Georgian architectural marvel, Svetitskhoveli houses the robe of Jesus Christ. Jvari Monastery is perched on a hill overlooking the city. You will have the unique opportunity to see the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Visit Saint Gabrieli’s grave and the souvenir market. After Mtskheta, we will drive back to Tbilisi for an overnight stay.
Day 2
KAZBEGI-GUDAURI-ANANURI
Explore the high Caucasus Mountains. Reach an altitude of 2395 meters at the Cross Pass, where we can make several stops to taste the mineral water and admire the snowy mountain peaks. We will switch to a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach the Gergeti Holy Trinity Church, located at an altitude of 2170 meters. Visit the top of Mount Gergeti, where the 14th-century Holy Trinity Church stands atop Stephantsminda and beneath the majestic peak of Kazbegi (5033m). In the evening, drive back to Tbilisi, passing by the Gudauri ski resort. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 3
KAKHETI-BODBE-KVARELI
Drive to the fortified city of Sighnagi, which is encircled by a wall with 28 watchtowers. Visit the convent of Bodbe, where the monastery grounds offer breathtaking views of the Alazani Valley, renowned for its Georgian wines, with the peaks of the Greater Caucasus towering behind it. After Bodbe, we will drive to the Tsinandali Museum and continue to the winery at Kindzmarauli in Kvareli to taste Kakhetian wines made according to local traditions. Return to Tbilisi.
