Currently managed by the Palace Museum, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Constructed between 1406 and 1420, it was the imperial palace and winter residence for the Emperor of China from the Ming dynasty (starting with the Yongle Emperor) to the end of the Qing dynasty, spanning 1420 to 1924. The central arch was exclusively for the Emperor, while all other officials and servants used the four side arches.
Hall of Great Harmony (Taihe Dian) - Situated at the center of the Forbidden City along its central axis, this is the largest and most magnificent hall in the Forbidden City. The Hall of Supreme Harmony is among the largest wooden structures in China and was the site for the Ming and Qing dynasty emperors’ enthronement and wedding ceremonies.
The Nine Dragon Screen of The Palace Museum - One of three such screens in China, this spectacular composition of coiling dragons is crafted from colored glazed tiles and was built in 1773. It is a type of screen wall featuring reliefs of nine different Chinese dragons, typically found in imperial Chinese palaces and gardens.

Mutianyu Great Wall – Lama Temple (Yonghegong)
Mutianyu Great Wall - The Great Wall of China is the longest wall in the world and one of China’s most iconic symbols. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. A cable car takes visitors up to the breathtaking wall, where they can spend 1 to 2 hours leisurely hiking up and down various sections, exploring the Watch Towers, and marveling at the construction and beauty of this legendary Wall. An exhilarating toboggan ride back down from the top of the Great Wall concludes the visit.

Listed as a World Heritage Site, it was originally named Qingyi Yuan or the Garden of Clear Ripples and was first constructed in 1750. It was destroyed by the Anglo-French Allied Forces in 1860, then rebuilt by the Qing Dynasty government in 1886 using funds misappropriated from the Imperial Navy and other sources. Two years later, it was renamed Yihe Yuan or the Garden of Health and Harmony, but was ravaged by the Allied Forces of the Eight Powers that invaded China in 1900. Visitors can explore the court area, lake area, long corridor, and more.
Long Corridor at the Summer Palace - This covered walkway in the Summer Palace, first erected in the mid-18th century, is famous for its 728 m (2,388 ft) length and rich painted decoration. Tower of Buddhist Incense (Summer Palace) - Originally intended to be a nine-story Buddhist pagoda resembling the Yellow Crane Tower, construction was halted by the Qianlong Emperor after the eighth story. The tower, built on a 20 m (66 ft) tall stone base, measures three stories and 41 meters (135 ft) in height, supported by eight ironwood pillars. Empress Dowager Cixi visited the tower to offer incense and pray.
Temple of Heaven - A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this temple complex was constructed from 1406 to 1420. It is a complex of imperial religious Confucian buildings, the largest Imperial place of worship from ancient times. Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest - This magnificent triple-gabled circular building, 36 m (118 ft) in diameter and 38 m (125 ft) tall, was where the Emperor prayed for good harvests. The building is entirely wooden, with no nails.
