3-Day Tour from Agadir to the Sahara Desert

Day 1: Agadir - Taroudant - Ait Benhaddou Kasbah - Atlas Studios - Ouarzazate

After breakfast at your hotel, we will embark on a 3-day tour from Agadir to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert, departing at 8:00 a.m. and driving to Ouarzazate via Taroudant. Here, we will visit the medieval walls and souks before enjoying the landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. On the edge of the High Atlas, we will reach the ancient Kasbah Ait-Benhaddou, a fortified city built along the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara, which was a bustling trading post in the 17th century. Within its high mud walls are six Kasbahs and a few houses. Ait Benhaddou has been featured in films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. We will then drive to Ouarzazate to explore Atlas Studios before checking into our hotel or riad to relax, dine, and spend the night.

Day 2: Ouarzazate - Valley of Roses - Dades Valley - City of Tinghir - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Night in Desert Camp - Erg-Chebbi Sand Dunes (Merzouga)

After breakfast, we will depart from Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert,” and head to Merzouga. We will stop to admire the stunning architecture of Kasbah Taourirte in Ouarzazate before traveling down the Kasbah Road, through the Valley of Roses and Dades Valley. The Todra Valley, lined with Berber villages and palm groves, offers spectacular views. We will then proceed to Todra Gorge, a natural setting with orange cliffs about 1,000 feet deep, popular for climbing. We will explore this incredible location before continuing our journey to the Sahara Desert, passing through Berber settlements like Tinjdad, Melaab, and Erfoud. You will have time for lunch along the way. Upon arrival at the enchanting Erg-Chebbi sand dunes, you will embark on a 1.5-hour camel journey through the unique orange sand dunes to the desert camp. Enjoy the magical experience of watching the sunset from the middle of the dunes. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp, with music and time spent under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - N’kob - Tazarine - Agdez - Anti-Atlas - Ouarzazate - High Atlas - Agadir

We recommend rising early on the last day of our 3-day desert tour from Agadir to Marrakech to witness the stunning sunrise. After breakfast and a shower, take a camel ride back to Merzouga town. We will then begin our return journey to Marrakech, passing through Rissani (Tafilalt), Alnif, Tazarine, and N’kob. We will travel through the breathtaking Draa Valley, dotted with old Kasbahs, Berber communities, and palm groves. Our journey continues through Agdez and the Anti-Atlas Mountains (1660m). We will stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before continuing to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains. We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening and drop you off at your hotel, completing our 3-day tour from Agadir to Marrakech via the Merzouga Desert.
