Instructor and office personnel were always timely and patient with everything going on. Got plenty of time either different aspects of sailing as crew and as helmsman. Built a solid foundation for sailing and ready to look and do the next courses

Great instructor and overall experience. A lot of information to learn and retain in a short period of time but class structure was very appropriate.

I was very happy with this course. I had studied for the ASA 101 course for some time via books and videos. I was nervous about taking the class, however the staff at South Coast Sailing were very friendly and encouraging. When I came to class I found my instructor Captain Kevin very patient and encouraging as well. When a maneuver didn’t go as planned, he would talk it through with us and then we would try it again. He would ask how we felt about the maneuver when we got it right and if we didn’t feel good, he would let us try again. This establishment displayed professionalism at all times and were very well organized with the curriculum and delivery of instruction. I will be practicing to take my next course with them in the future.

I thought course material and instructer were both very effective. The only input I would offer is that I was surprised that the boat wasn't equipped with a full set of telltales (main & jib), since they are so very effective in visualizing the airfoil effect for beginners, not to mention the utility in learning proper sail trim. Minor point.
