It was my first time on the Island and it was lovely. The show was amazing!
The play 1776 was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. The boat ride over was wonderful - prompt, clearly outlined and a beautiful sunset on the return trip. The only thing that was a disappointment was the lack of communication for the food. What was being sold was really a snack instead of supper. Maybe the preview emails could have stated to bring a light supper to have before the show or something to that effect. My friend brought food, but if she hadn't I think it would have been difficult to see the show and be hungry. I didn't realize the return trip would not have us back until 8:30. I little more communication on food, what's available and what time the return trip would be would have been helpful. Overall, a wonderful evening, fabulous show and beautiful Bannerman castle.
The show was very well done and most entertaining. I was amazed at the talent of the performers. The set was clever, and knowing a bit about the Bannerman production made it easy to accept that several of the actors would still be on book. Some sort of canopy to protect everyone (including the actors) from the scorching sun and the glare would have been most welcome. A heads up that there are no toilets in the stage area would have kept some people from being caught completely off guard.
