Great Trip - Easy Booking, had concerns regarding the pickup/ride since I was traveling on my own, this was quickly addressed. The tour guide was puntual and accomating to my needs.

A magical half day in the hot springs in the clouds - The hot springs were magical. Soaking in the pools surround ed by the mist of the clouds, wild greenery and an amazing scent in the air all created a wonderful experience. The guide, Christopher, was very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. I highly recommend this experience as well as this guide.

Great time! - Roberto was such a great driver! He showed me where everything was and helped me get a locker before waiting for me for a couple hours, which is much easier than having to worry about finding him/someone else worked somewhere different after. Absolutely recommend!

Great natural experience - David, our tour guide, was great. He was very knowledgable about the area and gave us some recommendations while driving us through the beautiful mountains in route to the hot springs. The sights are amazing, mini-geysers, vegetable plantations showing up next to the road, the closeby river and its waterfall, the hot springs themselves, everything was top-notch. Beware that the weather is very cold, so you should be very careful when exiting the hot springs to avoid catching a cold.

Great tour to the springs - We had a car just for ourselves, and were all alone in the springs on a Monday morning : so nice ! The driver took us at 9am at our hotel and we arrived at 9.40, and he took us back a 1pm so we had all time to try all the pools and eat :)

Mont Verde Tours Should Be You Go-To Tour Agency in Xela - Monte Verde Tours should be your go-to tour company for hiking adventures in Quetzaltenango (Xela). The owner, Josh, is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He helped us organise quite a few hiking tours, including the Volcan Santa Maria trek, Chicabal Lake trek, Volcan Santo Tomas / Fuentes Georginas trek and the Xela to Lake Atitlan 3 Day hike, and we loved all of them. He also helped organise a shuttle service for us from Lanquin to Xela, which isn't a typical route; but, he made it happen 🙂 The guides from Monte Verde Tours, specifically Rudi and Feliz, were fantastic! We can't recommend Monte Verde Tours enough.

Excellent. Simple as that. - Always, in my experience, a first rate family outfit. US / Guatemalan couple. Over the years I’ve used the company many times. Transport only, bespoke tours, Nebaj to Todos Santos multi-day trek and many more. On this occasion I arranged transport only for the Santa Maria volcano ascent and an overnight camping trip. The overnight camping trip followed the Siete Cruces route to Volcan Zunil. Then the next day to Volcan Santo Tomas and then ending at Fuentes Georginas in the thermal pools. Everything was spot on. The guide Rudy was excellent and cooked up some tasty food. I’m sure there are several good tour agencies but I really do recommend this family run outfit.

Great place but.... - The place in itself is fantastic. The pools were clean and good level of water. I had a good time aside from other inconveniences. The car didn't pick me up till 2:35 (instead of 2pm) after I called twice inquiring. I only had a 1.5 hour in the park.

Not so hot, Hot Springs - I was glad to have booked this tour with Monte Verde Tours, instead of trying to get there by public transportation. The driver was informative about the area and very helpful giving us the layout of Fuentes Georginas. Fuentes Georginas was a bit disappointing. The pools were not hot enough to be called hot springs. The restaurant was very limited. It wasn't crowded but there didn't seem to be enough changing rooms. I liked that there are lockers for Q15/day. The location was pretty, even in the heavy fog. The drive up the hill was through farm plots and provided a great view of the valley.

Okay - You’re basically paying for transport and entrance fees. No “extras” beyond that. When we traveled the price of this bundled tour was roughly what we would have paid if we had organized ourselves. The pools themselves were roughly swimming pool temperature. The water is hot coming in but the pools are large so the heat quickly dissipates. They’re working on a new restaurant that looks pretty nice. Average changing rooms/toilets for this type of thing (yes, dirty/moldy, but you’ll survive). There are lockers for 15Q. Overall worth a visit if you have some extra time in Xela. I wouldn’t recommend if this means a major detour or staying an extra day.
