- Lake Lucerne - You continue your tour with the one hour lake boat transfer from Luzern to Alpnachstad. After leaving the bay of Luzern, the boat glides along the shore of Hergiswil and Stansstad to the bay of Alpnach. On the entire boat tour you have the surrounding mountains in sight.

Alpnachstad - Alpnachstad is the connection point between the lake boat and the steepest cogwheel train in the world.

Kriens - In terms of population, Kriens is the third largest municipality and the second largest city in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. It lies at the foot of Mount Pilatus and borders Lucerne to the east.
At Kriens you leave the aerial cableway and after a 10 minutes walk to the bus stop, you board the local bus to Luzern. - Kapellbrücke - As the old town of Luzern is just footsteps away, you can visit the Chapel bridge and some sights in the old town before returning by train to Zürich, where the tour ends.

Located just outside Luzern, Mt. Pilatus boasts 73 mountain peaks and countless lakes that promise breathtaking 360-degree views. The popular Golden Round Trip (Jun-Oct) serves as a wonderful tour: starting with a lake boat ride on Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad, then taking the steepest cogwheel train in the world to Mt. Pilatus. The return journey includes a panoramic aerial cable car travel via Kriens and a local bus ride back to Luzern.
The Pilatus is also a paradise for families and thrill-seekers, offering the biggest rope park in Central Switzerland at Fräkmüntegg. A variety of attractions at Mount Pilatus and the spacious viewing terrace are there for you to enjoy.
From November to May, the cogwheel railway and scheduled lake boat are not in service. During this season, Mt. Pilatus can be reached by cable car and a scenic lake cruise in Luzern that lasts one hour.

Wonderful experience! - I highly recommend this excursion!
Our guide, Martin was very knowledgeable and friendly; and the views from mount Pilatus were stunning. This was by far the best excursion we've taken from Viator.

Great tour and guide - It's great not to drive around in a car all day but still go a long way and see and do several different things. The guide Adrian was very helpful and did not talk to much like most of them do.

Amazing views and guide! - The Mount Pilatus Golden tour was fantastic. We had Adrian as our guide and he was a pleasure. The river cruise on Lake Lucerne was beautiful and the cogwheel train to the top of Mount Pilatus was fun. The views from the top are breathtaking! We would highly recommend this tour!
