Consequently, UNESCO acknowledged its uniqueness by designating it a World Heritage Site in 2000.

The excursion begins at the Old Slave Market site (Anglican Church), steering through the winding alleys. It proceeds to the City Market, where visitors can explore the local fish and fruit markets. Highlights include the Palace Museum, the grand House of Wonder (also known as Bait -al- ajab), which is the most extensive and tallest building in Stone Town, the Old Fort, Tippu Tip, and Freddie Mercury’s house. Introduction to Zanzibar - Definitely take a tour to get an orientation to Zanzibar! The history of Zanzibar is fascinating and our tour guide really knew his history and took us to all the notable historical spots as well as show us remnants of Zanzibars colonial past.

Can't recommend given my experience - My first guide, Ahmad, who took me on a food tour was very lovely and professional. However, my Stone Town Tour was miserable as my guide for that day was kept flirting with me, touching me, and made inappropriate comments. As a solo female traveler, I was uncomfortable beyond words. I ending up faking being tired with the goal of expediting the tour. I give thanks that the company gave me a favorable response after I reported my experience but I'm still ruminating on it all despite it being three weeks since returning home. This review is more for that guide rather than the company as a whole.
