Embark on a guided stroll lasting 45 minutes, which includes an exploration of six notable monuments dating from 1190 to 1783. This walk allows travellers to obtain a comprehensive insight into Irish history, exploring both its historical and archaeological wonders. Additionally, it offers an understanding of the progression in architectural design over a millennium while navigating the Viking Triangle. This experience is promoted as ‘From Vikings to Victorians - A Millennium of History within a Thousand Steps’, situated in Ireland’s most ancient city, ‘Veðrafjǫrðr’, (Waterford).
Further enhancing the experience now includes touring an exhibit named ‘Mayors through the Ages, Eight Centuries of Civic Government in Ireland’. This exhibit, set up in City Hall, outlines the evolution of mayoralty and the growth of democratic, parliamentary, and local government throughout the generations.

Very informative tour - I recommend purchasing the Freedom Pass! - Fantastic tour! Our guide Claire was fun and informative. We purchased the Freedom Pass which allowed us to go into the Medieval museum, Irish Time Museum, Bishop's Palace and the Epic Walking Tour. Well worth the €20 price! I would suggest doing the muesums first which will help put the walking tour into context. A must see in the fascinatingly historic Waterford!

The guide made the tour excellent! - Very interesting tour. The highlight was the tour guide! I think her name is Cliona? I really can’t recall now but she was excellent! Fantastic storyteller. Great humour. Loved every minute!

Could be improved. - Too much about Norman's and Young Irelanders and almost nothing about Vikings. Would have liked to hear about their traditions, family life, housing when they finally settled. Etc.

Excellent tour, but Viator needs to step up its act! - The tour was excellent, but my complaint is with Viator.
1.) aviator’s directions to the tour start are inaccurate. The tour starts at the door to the Bishop’s Palace, not where Viator sends you if you tap their map. We missed the beginning of the tour.
2.) In Waterford, you can buy the Freedom of Waterford Tour at the Medieval Music. It includes the Epic Viking AND 4 museums. We paid Viator for nothing.
