- Cai Be - At 6:30 AM, Mekong Smile guide will pick you up at hotel via Cai Be for a boat trip. At 9:00, we hop on a wooden motored boat to visit a local market which sells many types of necessity such as fresh river fishes, fresh vegetables, snacks and sweets. The locals are friendly welcoming you to their stall creating a very lively atmosphere. After that, the boat stops by a river side for Cai Be old church which carries a French influenced architecture from the colonial era. The cruise trip continues slowly onto a local household where they produce pop rice traditionally. The boat then crosses the river to a small islet where you can relaxingly cycle through small countryside roads. Under the shade of trees, durians or rambutans bearing heavily on the trunks, Mekong life appears to you in such a tranquil way. Then we sneak into a small canal on a rowing sampan and see the fresh water mangrove along the river bank. The boat stops at the pier and we take a bus ride back to Ho Chi Minh City.
