Dalberto Pombo Environmental Interpretation Centre - The Dalberto Pombo Environmental Interpretation Center (CIADP) was the result of the reconstruction of a building at the beginning of the historic area of Vila do Porto.
This Center houses the estate of the naturalist Dalberto Pombo, a pioneer in the study of the geological and biological diversity of the island and its main objective is to promote the knowledge of the natural heritage, in a dynamic and interactive way, with an educational and scientific character. - Barreiro da Faneca - Barreiro da Faneca is an extensive area of arid and clayey terrain, belonging mainly to the geological unit called “Formation of Feteiras”, constituting a semi-desert landscape of yellow-reddish color, unique in the Azores.
- Ribeira do Maloas - In its downstream part, the bed of Ribeira do Maloás, in place of Malbusca, presents a waterfall in an extensive outcrop of basaltic columns with 15 to 20 m high and an extension of about 220 m. Wonderful - I had an amazing whirlwind day seeing every single inch of the island of Santa Maria! The tour culminated at Pico Alto rhe highest point of the island where i got an amazing perspective of the whole iland with stunning views! My guide was very personable, flexible and accommodating. I was delayed in arriving and he was gracious enough to change the date and even dropped me off at the airport because we didn't have time to ho back to the hotel.
All in all a wonderful experience!

Wonderful private Tour with Marco - This was an amazing experience with a wonderful and fun guide. Marco was a local and well known on the island. He knew almost anything we could ask and was always willing to go wherever we wanted. Santa Maria is such a beautiful Island, literally ever turn was a post card. My husband and myself were so happy to be shown around with such hospitality despite knowing no Portuguese, we look forward to returning. PS he also dealt well with our 16 year old nephew.

A must tour is Santa Maria - Marco gave us a thorough tour of Santa Maria. He is knowledgeable about the island & its many wonders. He went overboard to ensure that our needs and interests were met. As a native of the island, he shared spots that we would never have discovered on our own. What a delightful day!
