Fun diversion from typical Vienna venues - The tour bus was easy to find and the guide was very friendly and accommodating, giving the tour in Spanish, English, and French. The monastery was very historic and interesting, with a nice restaurant on site. The gypsum mine was very cool (literally) so pack a jacket!

Enjoyable Trip - Nice to hear that Maria Vetsura's tragic death has not been forgotten even though the Imperial Family tried to cover it up.

Half-day well spent - I went on this tour with my Mum on 6 August 2019, and it was excellent! We were impressed by the punctual arrival of the bus, were happy about the small size of the group and were delighted by the beauty of the sights we saw. Mayerling, Heiligenkreuz and Baden as well as the fascinating landscapes of the Vienna Woods took our breath away. I would like to specially note the work of the guide: the information he gave was interesting and concise, his command of several languages was impeccable and his time management was excellent. Besides, he was friendly, willingly answered questions and easily gripped the attention of the audience. Thank you Viator and Vienna Sightseeing, and we're looking forward to new trips with you!

A real taste for the Vienna Woods .. An Experience Not to be Missed.... - A wonderful way to see the Vienna Woods and get a taste of history of the death of Rudolph and Maria..Unable to take full advantage of the Grotto experience due to too many stairs, but the visiting of the old monestary and several small villages along the way was a treat... Very fine tour guide and safe helpful bus driver..

Lovely half day - Mayerling really beautifully laid out. Pretty quick visit here, the countryside is so lovely and green. Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz is beautiful and peaceful. We were treated to a cake and coffee which was a nice surprise. Baden was quiet as were there on Sunday so no shops open. Tour can no longer visit the subterranean lakes.

Worth driving through the Vienna Woods - This was a good half day tour to don’t bus. The drive through the Vienna Woods is lovely and peaceful. It is so green and lots of trees. Something I didn’t expect so close to the city. The country side is lovely There were about 30 or so people on the tour and our guide was informative. Another interesting activity was visiting the Seegrotte which used to be a gypsum mine then secret aircraft manufacturer during the war. You have to walk through a tunnel to get to the mines and underground lake. Not difficult to do. We had another guide showing us this area and then take us on a short 10 minute or less boat ride around this artificial lake. It was interesting. Then we went to the old Cistercian’s monastery which was interesting. We saw a lot of the complex but I felt it was a little rushed and would have liked more time to take everything in. Especially waiting to take photos with a large group. We were fortunate to hear part of a mass with the monks praying. The monastery was interesting and full of history. Then back on the bus and we drove through Baden town with the tour guide giving us some history about it. Then we literally stopped at the Mayerling hunting lodge I thought we were going to ‘explore’ and did a u-turn to go back to Vienna. Got a little bit of history about it but didn’t get out of the bus to visit it. So that part of the tour was a little deceiving. Hence the four stars. But the rest was good.

A pleasant and varied trip - An opportunity to relax and be away from Vienna city. Well organised and a varied trip covering the hunting lodge and Prince Rudolph and his mistress fate, the abbey and underground sea lake including a boat trip. The tour guide provided a detailed explanation in three languages throughout the whole trip.

Enjoyable half day - I love everything about Sissi's life and Mayerling gave me more insight about her family. Our guide gave us very interesting information and I loved it. The Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, was lovely as well. The seegrotte was a totally different thing from the others sites we visted and for someone who visited natural caves would be a little disappointed. The tour was well organised and overall quite enjoyable.

Different type of tour - not sure it was worth it though - Didn't really get to see much of the Vienna Woods. Just in bus, then an abbey and then the cave (mine). Abbey was okay I guess, but time spent there, including 30 free minutes (to shop and eat - in other words, spend money on them) was too much. Then on to the mine which is very interesting and to see the water and how it was used by Germany in war was very interesting. Definitely different from other tours. Also, not surrounded by lots of crowds and noise. But, was it worth 5 hours of my time when so many amazing things to see in Vienna? No. I wouldn't recommend this unless you have been many times and are looking for something different. Also, it is cold in the mine and I don't remember it saying that you needed to bring a coat in the write up so be warned. They have blankets you can cover yourself with, but who knows who else used or when cleaned.

It`s OKt - Guide was a little snarky when asked a question. Hieligenkreuz and Mayerling were interesting but Baden was not.
