Join us on a hike tracing the path of the pioneering mountain railway system, the ‘Semmeringbahn’, renowned by UNESCO, and constructed in 1854. Inhale the unpolluted alpine air while soaking in breathtaking scenes and impressive man-made structures in the loftiest part of Lower Austria. The excursion, which is ideal for train lovers, nature enthusiasts, and passionate hikers, allows you to escape the urban life of Vienna and delve into the heart of nature.

The Semmering Railway, with its stunning mountain backdrops and complex viaducts and bridges seamlessly built into the hills, makes an ideal setting for photography and is one of the top hiking destinations near Vienna.

As an adept first aider and wildlife biologist, I can safely navigate you through the woodland and hills, negating the need for any logistics, time management or stress. Simply switch off your mind and tune in to the serenity of nature!

  • Please check the weather foreacast for Semmering on the day of your tour and dress accordingly!
  • The trails are mostly flat and clear but sturdier walking/hiking shoes are nonetheless recommended
