Adventurous yet peaceful - Found a pamphlet while on the Port Angeles Coho ferry. We then visited the location at Fisherman’s Wharf to book our trip. We chose a 3 hour sunset tour on the open 50-passenger vessel and OMG WE HAD THE BEST TIME!! You should know: it gets VERY cold out on the water. Dress in long pants and long tops. The crew does pass out thick jackets and pants to go over your clothes, and you’ll be glad you have many layers on. They also offer hats, gloves, whatever you need to make the trip comfortable. We mostly talked with Logan while on board, and he made it an unforgettable experience. While out on the water, some large orcas were swimming by. I was taking a picture of my husband and Logan tapped my shoulder and asked for my phone. Then he proceeded to take some pictures of us and the whales in the background. I wasn’t expecting that at all and it really made us feel special. The rest of the crew was wonderful as well. In our opinion, this is a must-do while in Victoria. The sunset is beautiful and the boat ride is a damn good time. Going fast over big waves feels like a roller coaster. A great mix of peaceful whale-watching and thrilling fly-off-your-seat boat riding.

Sunset Tour - We went on the tour last night with Riley, Carol, and Captain Brett. They were an exceptional crew to go with! Riley was full of knowledge and was so down to earth; Carol was so enthusiastic and welcoming; and the Captain did an amazing job getting us near whales. We are truly so grateful and can’t wait to bring the rest of our family back for another tour! They took care of us - had jackets, gloves, blankets, and hats at the ready as we definitely weren’t prepared and continued to check on us throughout the tour. This company has great morals and is working to keep the ocean and its amazing wildlife preserved by educating others! We highly recommend taking a tour with them!

Whale watching tour - I did 5 tours with this company over de course of 2,5 days. Twice I was on a semi covered boat and the other times on an open boat. I also did the evening tour twice. All tours were different and equally wonderfull. Everyday I saw humpback whales and eventhough on 1 tour we saw two humpbacks in the mist, the captain told us we had whale guarantee and this was not the experience the company stands for and therefor we all got to go on another tour with them. Twice I was on board with captain Brett (also one of the owners) and he is so much fun. He is a great captain, he's funny and he spots the whale before everyone else. Other staff/naturalist were also amazing and fun to be on board with. Higly recommend this company and if you can, choose for the open boat. The day tours are really great, but the evening tours were special.

Best Orca Bros in the harbor! - Absolutely awesome experiance watching Orcas in the Gulf Islands, miles and miles from Victoria in an open speed boat! though 26 passengers might seem like a lot. Was not crowded at all. They go where other companies don't, and they did not disappoint. Our 3 hour tour was actually 3 and a half because of it! We found a coupon, so was an Incredible value (unless you needed to be somewhere at 930pm lol). Competent and experianced crew, yet not so Profesional they don't bro out a little bit. Very knowledgeable and funny! know how to have a good (and safe) time on the water. Would totally do it again. highly recomend!

Experience 10/10 - We LOVED the tour, in capital letters. Watching humpbacks is a truly humbling experience. Our guide, Derek, shared so much knowledge and interesting inputs on the behavior and culture of cetaceans and other wildlife in the area. You could very quickly notice they are experts on the matter and passionate about it. In addition, the fact that Eagle Wing contributes with wildlife protection and preservation, including education and dissemination adds a lot of value to the whole experience. By doing the tour, you are not just watching these incredible animals in their environment, you are helping protect them and educate younger generations on how to interact with this environment sustainably. We would definitely choose this tour again (and for sure would be more than happy to keep the same crew!). Thanks so much Derek and Trev for the excellent evening.

Leaves a taste other than salt water in your mouth - Onboard the crew were fantastic, lovely people, knowledgeable and helpful. They genuinely care about the ocean and do a lot to protect it. The trip was excellent and we saw humpbacks leaping out of the water galore, seals and a magnificent sunset. Wear warm clothes and waterproofs. There’s little better fun than being right at the bow of the boat travelling at speed bouncing 20 feet up and down with waves splashing over you getting into your mouth and hair. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the legal waiver and the sales lady lying. When you arrive they ask you to sign a waiver. When you read it it is outrageous. They claim they are not liable for anything even if they are negligent, oh, but if they are at fault such as causing your death, their liability is a maximum of CAD 1,000. The sales lady tries to fob you off by saying it’s a state requirement to sign it but after questioning she admitted the real reason. Having read the waiver I only went on the trip so as not to disappoint the rest of my group who were old enough to make their own decisions. I would ask the company to respond and publish the waiver here for all to read. I bet they won’t.

Average experience - We were taken out by Tom and Brett, who were really nice people. As were all the staff we spoke it. It's obviously not in their control but we saw very little over about 3 and half hours. A handful humpback whale sightings, where they were peaking out the sea and that's it. This was the 3rd time we have been whale watching and this was the most expensive trip and we saw the least. Improvement - there was no mic used when the staff on the boat were talking, so it was basically impossible to hear what either of them were saying or what the plan was in terms of finding whales. My recommendation - I understand there's no good technology to help detect where the whales are so communication between the whale watching boats and visual inspection are the best tools. So just go for the cheapest experience available - you'll probably see the same amount of whales.

Big deception for the price and the promises made on the website - Big deception for the price and the promises made on the website... We only saw 4 orcas during 20min, but the trip was 3,5hours long. For a family of 6, we spent almost 1000$. On the wesbsite, you can see : -"Whale Guarantee! "-> We were expecting to see real whales, not just orcas. -"Incredible wildlife viewing "-> only birds -"Hydrophone—you can actually hear the whales! "-> Maybe it was broken , they don't use it for the orcas.. so unnecessary promise - "Luxury vessels " -> Luxury is exagerated, it is a simple boat with more than 30persons, nothing luxurious. -Etc Keep your money for a more interesting activity.I tried to contact them in private for explaining my bad feeling but they said that the trip was normal and that we were lucky with the 4 orcas... maybe is my family too demanding for 1000$ ?
