Highlights
  • Arena di Verona - The Verona Arena is a Roman amphitheater located in the historic center of Verona, an icon of the Venetian city together with the figures of Romeo and Juliet. It is one of the large buildings that have characterized Roman architecture and one of the ancient amphitheaters that has come to us with the best degree of conservation, thanks to the systematic restorations carried out since the 16th century; precisely for this reason, despite the numerous transformations it has undergone, it allows the visitor to easily understand the structure of this kind of buildings, rigorously subject to the function for which they were intended but still endowed with an essential beauty

Additional Information

Travel back in time to the era of Rome’s grandeur with a visit to an impressive structure from that epoch - the amphitheatre. Examine it under the guidance of an expert, observing that what exists today is a transformed version of what was established two millennia ago. Embark on a tour inside this architectural marvel, navigating its passageways and arches that ingeniously link external entrances with the interior passageways known as ‘vomitoria’. Uncover areas where gladiators once roamed and spaces that accommodated markets. Will it slip your mind to step into the ‘arena’ just as a gladiator would have? And can you resist the charm of sitting on the stone steps, a practice that continues among modern spectators? As you soak up tales of the gladiatorial games of yore, our journey concludes in the most secluded and atmospheric corner of the entire amphitheatre. From there, you are free to remain in this remarkable setting for as long as you’d like.

Great tour for the whole family - A great tour to get behind the walls of the Arena and to understand the power behind the Roman Empire. Our guide Fabio spoke excellent English and was very authentic, genuine and had fascinating stories to tell. We were presented several aspects of the life of a gladiator as well as for normal people in the Roman times. I can highly recommend this tour.
