Highlights
  • Gondola Bauer - Meet the Turive assistant at 14.45 in front of the wooden kiosk in calle larga de l’Ascension.
At 15.00 start your classic gondola ride (30 min) from campo San Moisè
  • Doge’s Palace - Meet again the Turive assistant at 15.30 in calle larga de l’Ascension.
The second part of the tour will start at 15.45
Discover the Doge’s Palace, the historical seat of the most important political power of the Serene Venetian Republic.

Once inside the Palace, you will visit the halls where the Duke (Doge) and his Council controlled the fate of the Serene Republic, whilst surrounded by hundreds of artistic masterpieces and discover the political history of Venice and its people. You will be able to admire the paintings realized by some of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance, amongst them, the world’s largest oil painting by Tintoretto.
Passing through the famous Bridge of Sighs, you will reach the new prisons. The bridge was given its name by the English poet Lord Byron, probably referring to the last breath of the prisoners, who had their last view of the lagoon and of Venice from the window of this bridge, before they were to be imprisioned.

  • Museo Correr - At the end of the tour, keep your Doge’s Palace ticket to visit on your own: Museo Correr, Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Saint Mark’s square, opposite side of the Saint Mark’s Basilica.

Beautiful Palace - We enjoyed our gondola ride and our tour through the Doge's Palace was great. We were really impressed with seeing the inside of the Palace. Not what we expected when we got inside. Beautiful. Our gondola ride was nice also. The tour company did a great job of getting us on first given we had to get back for the Doge's Palace portion of the tour. I wish though that the timing between was a little better organized so it felt less rushed. But overall we loved our tour.

It was okay - I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t a private gondola ride, and the majority of the time the guy was on his cell phone, talking and laughing obnoxiously. The guided tour was nice and the lady was very sweet and informative.
