Highlights
  • Varna Archaeological Museum - The establishment and growth of the Varna Archaeological Museum are intimately linked with Herman and Karel \_korpil, two Czech brothers who settled in Varna in 1894 to contribute to the educational and cultural advancement of their fellow Slavic people after Bulgaria’s emancipation from Ottoman rule. On December 12, 1901, a collective of community leaders and educators founded the Varna Archaeological Society, which has been the driving force behind the interest and research in the history of Varna, the Varna Region, and Northeast Bulgaria for many years. For the Society, the creation of an archaeological museum was a top priority.\n\nThe edifice, initially envisioned as a Girls High School, was constructed from 1892 to 1898 based on designs by the renowned Bulgarian architect Petko Momchilov. The structure exhibits a new renaissance architectural style. It consists of a basement and two upper floors, nearly forming a perfect square, and features a large inner courtyard. Wall paintings adorn some of the rooms and hallways. A continuous corridor connects all the exhibition rooms throughout the building.

E-guide plus entry = total bargain - This activity gave us the guides notes and an entry which made me buy it. Great value for money. Recommend to anyone on an individual trip. In my case it was with the business partners.

A must for this museum - While in Varna we booked this activity which features an e-guide and entrance to the Archaeological museum. It's wonderful to have all the guides notes and to explore at your own pace. Real bargain with the entry.

Don’t buy this ticket - This was a total rip off. I spent $11.50 for admission instead of a few lev. They gave me nothing & told me to read the English on the walls. You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling this
