You want to know about Malta? Then this is superb - time very well spent! - The theatre experience is exceptionally well done and charts Malta through the ages in an informative and visually enthralling way. It's a winner for adults and older children alike but small children may be a little challenged due to content and length. If you combine the Sacra Infermeria tour - our lady guide was simply brilliant - then Malta truly becomes a wonderful place with great history. Only one slight drawback - some of the headphone pieces in the auditorium were broken.

Well worth it- unless you are a kid. - So it’s a long history lesson. I mean… back to BCE. I’m American and our history is so short! Multi media with great earphones narrating it in over a dozen languages. Huge screen. Comfy seats but not all that big for, well, you know- American seats are bigger. Doubt kids would enjoy it. Little kids would have a lovely nap as the background music is great. So many conquerors.. it pared well with my Segway tour beforehand. I love a movie/ presentation like this to cut to the chase so I can understand things better.

A well presented, high quality short film about the history of Malta, the Maltese and their culture. - The Malta Experience is a high quality 45 minute film shown in an air conditioned modern theatre. Multilingual head phoned offer around 20 different languages. The English narrator is Derek Jacobi who was excellent. The film shows the history of Malta and the Maltese people from prehistoric times, through different rulers including those from Rome, Spain, France, Phoenicians from Carthage, British and then self rule. Maltese history and culture is amazing and includes the Great Siege against the Ottoman superpower of the 16th century and the Siege of Malta by the Axis powers during WW2. The Sacra Infermia across the road is an amazing building, built by the Knights Hospitaller and was very advanced in the medical treatment that it offered for the time.

Worth a visit for a brief but informative history of Malta - Booked on day, cost about €11 each, don’t forget to show your online tickets at the desk to get old school paper ticket that they tear in half at door. Spacious seating, not sure air con was on as we’ve found at many places on this visit. Wasn’t too hot though. Comfortable seating for the length of the film, gives a brief but informative history of Malta - good for me as I get bored easily but this kept my attention until the end! Worth a visit in my opinion.

A must - do at the start of your Maltese trip - An excellent, comprehensive and very informative film with headphones in many languages all in a cinema-style auditorium. I would wholeheartedly recommend this activity as a first class introduction to any stay in Malta

Interesting if a little pricey - Over priced and not for young children who are not interested in history. The trip of the hospital was unavailable which was disappointing. Interesting though.

Comprehensive history lesson - We spent part of a rainy afternoon learning a lot more about the history on Malta in this fascinating 45-minute movie shown on the hour daily. Our admission also included a 30-minute narrated visit to the former hospital wards of the knights of Malta and while there’s not much to see, our guide Anna, did a fantastic job of describing the way things were centuries ago. Her booming voice and slow speaking style in English made it easy to picture the world of the knights. As for the movie-you buy your tickets at ground level then proceed down a steep curving staircase to the gift shop. You are allowed in the theatre about 10 minutes before the hour. Each seat has a headset and you can select from 20 different languages to hear the narration-every thing from the major European languages to Hebrew, Finish and more-very clever. Depending on how long you are staying, spending 90 minutes here may not fit but you should try as it’s a great history lesson on Malta.

Worth a visit - Great introduction to the history of Malta in a nutshell. We did this on day 1 and glad we did as it set the scene for the rest of the week. Disappointed that the headphones didn’t work, so spent the first ten minutes fumbling around and switching seats. It was followed by the tour of the Sacra Infermeria - very interesting and delivered brilliantly by the guide.
