A great adventure - The experience has been magnificent. A group of three Spanish couples of different ages form a team that, together with the guide and driver, Andrés, has spent three unforgettable days touring the parks and volcanic deserts south of Salar de Uyuni, as well as the Salar itself where Andrés took some photos of us (and video) extremely fun. Incredible landscapes of extinct volcanoes, beautiful lagoons full of flamingos and color... Really magnificent. The accommodations and food according to what they informed us. The first night in a salt hotel, well conditioned (without heating but with good blankets) and the second more basic and where it is usually very cold. Better to bring or rent sleeping bags from the agency. The meals were more than enough, without frills but healthy and appetizing. Andrés very attentive and good driver. In short, an unforgettable experience.

A beautiful experience with a good company, well organised and with correct prices. - I would recommend this experience. The views were amazing and so different every day. The company came to pick us up early in the morning at our bus station. I asked for vegetarian option and I had something at every meal. Prices are very correct and the night spots also. We also had a really nice driver called Marvin, careful on the road and very kind.

From the other reviews I would have hoped for better service. - 3 days and 2 nights tour, from 2 to 4 March 2024, with Spanish guide. On the first day we went to the Salar de Uyuni: splendid experience and unforgettable landscapes! The guide was very nice, he guided us well in the Salar, organized a nice lunch and aperitif at sunset, took some nice photos of us and was always available for every request. He then introduced us to some of Bolivia's music and traditions. The only flaw was that he didn't speak English and the information on the places visited was very poor and sometimes I believe even inaccurate (having received different information from the much more professional guides in San Pedro de Atacama), but that was to be expected because it was a cheap tour. The Hotel for the night in Uyuni was unexpectedly very nice and comfortable. The other two days we were with another guide for the classic tour to the south of Uyuni (plateau lagoons, colorful, mysterious lagoon, Sol de Manana geysers, south Lipez...). Beautiful places, the guide drove well and was pleasant. However, this one did not appear to be very professional: she always had techno music playing in the car (even if there were people of a certain age on board who clearly would have preferred to listen to something else), she even left it at high volume when we were near the lagoons with flamingos, and sometimes for fun he even honked the horn to make the birds fly! Furthermore, at the dinner in the accommodation near the Laguna Colorada we found ourselves with a "lasagna" full of cheese and ham as a main course, despite having informed the agency that I was lactose intolerant and in the group there was also a Muslim who did not eat meat. of pork. In the kitchen they said that they had not been warned about this. In conclusion: beautiful places visited, but if you pay for the cheap tour with a Spanish guide, be satisfied with only having a driver. To have serious guides or pay for those who speak English or change agencies.

THE WORST BED OF YOUR LIFE - The place is incredible, both the salt flat and the rest, there is no doubt about that, but where they take you to sleep is amazing. The first hotel is not in the salt flat, as they said, it is in Uyuni itself, a new but somewhat shabby hostel that they manage. The second hotel, near the red lagoon, is THE WORST BED OF MY LIFE. I understand that the hotel has few amenities (no wifi, no electricity) but the bed was a box spring made of iron crosses, some cardboard on top and a mattress on top. IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP. Better to throw the mattress on the floor. By the way, at the hotel they charged you for everything, for the wifi, for the shower... Comparing the visit to the Salar with what you saw others doing, the truth is that ours was bland. On the other hand, we took the tour in Spanish, which was cheaper, however they put us with some Swiss and some Thais on a tour in English. Anyway, bad agency, spectacular place.

Unhappy experience with Salty Desert Adventours - My real-life experience of the UYUNI SALT FLATS (3 days 2 nights) from 13-15 May2024 We are group of four from HK. Few months before coming to Uyuni, we selected Salty Desert Adventours to be the agent to arrange a private tour of 3D2N out of its good comments on the web. However, to us nightmare started in the evening of 13May when we came out of Isla Incahuasi at 5:20pm and were told by tour guide that the car lights are out of order. Our car is an obsolete Toyota Land Cruiser (vehicle registration number: 1567RKH). While the other tours are enjoying the sunset at the Isla Incahuasi, we had to rush to the hostel when there was still have little sunlight. It was really an adventure as we drove in the dark with the fear of rushing into any other cars or wild animals in the great salt lake! Thanks God, we managed to check in the hostel at 6:30pm unscathed. From the second day onwards, I started to discover more problems with this obsolete machine: i).No rear mirror (see picture), so that the tour guide sometimes needs to ask us if there is any car at the back ii).Hand brake out of order (told by the tour guide, who was also surprised to find that); iii). Odometer is not working (see picture), the tour guide cannot know exactly the speed of driving; iv). Windscreen at the passenger seat was cracked (see picture), v). On 15May, the last day, even engine cannot be turned on easily with the car key (possibly due to dead battery according to the tour guide). As we cannot turn off and on the engine very often, we have to shorten our time of visit at sightseeing points and even skipped the Green Lake, one it the prettiest lakes in Laguna Colorado! On the whole, we are very disappointed with the car provided by Salty Desert Adventour but we have to thank Mr. Luis, the tour guide, who still managed to protect our safety under such difficult situation.
