Corcovado Day Tour - I did this tour yesterday and it was amazing! Leo, the guide, really knew his way around and went out of his way to show us as many animals and plants as possible. Not only was I amazed by his profound knowledge of wildlife and plants but also by the fact that he really seems to love what he is doing and didn't only learn all that by heart to just repeat it over and over again. And as a gardener I especially enjoyed the more scientific side of how trees and plants survive here. And on top of that the crew on the boat made me feel safe and welcome. Thank you for this wonderful day!

Well organized day tour. - We took a boat for around 1.20 hours to the Corcovado National Park. Once we got there, we took different paths through the national park. We were able to see a few animals. However, I would ultimately recommend staying overnight because then you have more time and can see more animals. Time is limited on a day tour. Our guide was super nice and gave us good information. The meal prepared by the crew before the boat ride back was also very tasty.

Amazing Don't-Miss Natural Experience! - We had several excellent tour guides. We saw more animals/birds than anywhere on earth. The tour was a CR highlight! The experience started on the walk to the boat with bats, iguanas, and birds. Then the boat ride was about 1-1/4 hr, and two tours were about 3 hours total. Wear comfortable hiking shoes that can get wet and muddy. We did >26k steps. Lunch was delicious. Don't miss this iconic Costa Rican place.

Best adventure tour ever. Highly recommend. Great guide. Comfy boat. Great booking service. We saw almost everything - Best tour ever. But let me explain it. It started on a Tuesday where we message Ballena Tours via WhatsApp. First I got no answer and sort okay again a company who did not answer. Approximately 2hrs later the wrote and excused the delay in response. They was on a tour and only one lady busy in the office. This lady was Vielka and she was then so kind and tried everything to get us on a tour because we was really limited on time in Uvita. So we started at Wednesday the tour, unfortunately due to really bad weather that was then not possible (safety first was the answer! All good) Back in the office we thought our last chance for Corcovado park is gone. But then Vielka again managed a tour for Friday. It was supposed to be our Uvita departure day (what we did after the tour). We started again at the Ballena Tour office. Got Coffee, drinks, snacks and the our briefing plus life-jackets. We than walked to Uvita marina park and from there with speed boat to Corcovado. On the way we saw 3 times humpback whales (2x mother with calf and 1x a jumping male. And also dolphins. After 1,5hr we arrived at Corcovado park at the rangers station. Got briefed at the boat snooze ecosystem and the do‘s & don’ts. Then we started two tours with Andres (our famously guide). He managed the small group of US, Spanish and German guys and even talk in all three languages. No one missed anything and he showed everyone every detail and explain the backgrounds about nature, environmental and each animal. We was so lucky (that we had Andres) he found for us - humpback whale 🐋 - dolphins 🐬 - Tapire - Ara 🦜 - sloth 🦥 - Monkey 🐒 (spider and howler) - ants bear - crocodile 🐊 - golden orb spider 🕷️ He explained everything about them and also the environment. Then had a really nice lunch at the rangers station before we left Corcovado. We was never ever expecting that. This a awesome tour with Ballena tours. We organized. Great guide with a good boat crew. Always safe and fantastic quality. We can really recommend Ballena tours. Check with Vielka for organization and try to get Andres as guide and if you are lucky with the weather and availability of of the animals then it will we a unbelievable adventure tour.

Average tour with too large a group - The guide, Walter was very knowledgeable, but did not seem to spend enough time looking for wildlife. The time spent in the park was too short and the group size was much too large. And there too many other groups in the park. The lunch was very good and we had an unfortunate day of seeing very little wildlife. Also, the website should give clear instructions of what to bring, such as both water shoes and hiking shoes, reuseable water bottles (no plastic allowed), and extra water of your own beyond what they supply. Fortunately I had asked in advance and was prepared, but many were not. The beach was beautiful, but beware, the sand is burning hot so have water shoes and close toed hiking shoes, and a towel to get the sand off your feet!

Ok but not the best value - Breakfast , welcome and briefing good. Be aware boarding will get you wet! Nice boat ride, unlucky not to see any dolphins or whales. Amount of wildlife seen on tour not so much. Having just done Manuel Antonio at a fraction of the price, that would be my choice for your and then just pay for a boat ride if you want one.

Mediocre experience at best - We had high hopes for this tour to Corcovado from Uvita, and chose this company based on a recommendation from the dive company we used in Uvita. The communication before the tour was fantastic. No complaints there. The check in process was easy and the person at the front desk seemed knowledgeable and organized. He also spoke English very well. They had a basic, but satisfactory breakfast with biscuits, bars, fruit, juice, and coffee available which was appreciated with the 6:30am check in time. However, things quickly then went downhill. First off, the guide we were actually assigned spoke minimal English and was very difficult to understand. Second, the group size was way too large in my opinion. 17 people with only the one guide. The guide offered only basic and limited information about the park, the animals, etc. He brought his binoculars and stand, however there were so many people that those towards the back barely got to see anything before the animal/bird moved on. Minimal attention was paid to the group as a whole. At one point, our son actually fell and split open his head and was bleeding... guide didn't even notice, nor did he appear to have any first aid materials with him. We did the best we could with a wet wipe. All in all, the tour was a waste of time and money. We've been to Corcovado before with another company and had an absolutely lovely time with a guide and small group (4 - 6 people). Unfortunately, this company fell way short of the mark.

Unjustifiable price for what you actually d - Not worth the price - at all. A beautiful national park but this specific tour only takes you on a very small trail (maybe 2km) by the beach and back. We were expecting more hiking in distance (supposedly 2 trails but we only did 1 then left), and deeper into the forest to explore the richness of park, but this was disappointing on all aspects. The guide was friendly but definitely not a wildlife expert so we only saw a few animals. We had a much better animal seeing experience in the Manual Antonio park with an actual wildlife expert who was able to show us many animals that we wouldn't have been able to see ourselves using the scope. Disappointing to say the least. The day before we went snorkeling in the Isla del Caño (that is the same distance) for half of the price of the Corcovado Tour, and it was actually fantastic. I wouldn't recommend the Corcovado Tour, but rather going to Isla del Cano. We had a good time overall, but I wish I could known all this before booking and I definitely wouldn't have, not worth the price at all.

Forget San Pedrillo in Corcovado - The tour is really extensive for what you can see... The guide was too young and had not enough experience. Normally we had to go to la Sirena but the day before , it has been cancelled, a shame. Moreover the guide was running to go back under 35 degrees
