Lake Tour and Whiskey Tasting - I booked this excursion to celebrate my birthday. I got stuck at another location in the city so I messaged the tour operator an hour before pick up to see if they could possibly pick me up from there. They did! And, they also offered to rebook my excursion for the next day just in case they were unable to pick me up. We had a good driver and an English speaking guide who took us around to 2 lakes where we could take pictures and taste different whiskeys. The highlight of the tour was our steak and sausage dinner with grilled vegetables and a salad that the driver had made, which was great!

Spending the Day in Tierra del Fuego - After wondering what to do during our layover in Ushuaia before our excursion to Antarctica, we thought we might as well drink. With no expectations other than trying whiskeys, we quickly realized that this excursion would be so much more. What we didn’t know when we booked this tour was that our guides would take us off the beaten path to places where we could talk culture, see the amazing views of Tierra del Fuego, and of course drink good whiskey. After seeing so many breathtaking sites, we were treated to a homestyle asado meal in Fagnano lake and enjoyed the company of our guides. This was one of the best ways to enjoy an afternoon in Ushuaia and surrounding areas without chartering a large tour bus or having to rent a car. We drank and ate heartily and sincerely enjoyed the company of our Argentinian host.

A perfect afternoon - This was great fun. Driver, guide, and fellow passengers made the trip. A rigorous ride with multiple stops and tastings. The grilled steaks and chorizo were a terrific touch. We bought a bottle along the way adding to the experience.

Guide and driver were excellent. Unique experience. Dinner Exceptional - Dinner cooked by Driver. Took us to remote places to enjoy Whiskey provided. Enjoyed scenery and company.

Acquaintances to Friends - bonding over whiskey - Three strangers with shared passions of adventure travel, good food, and hearty drinks. Recipe for at least a good time. Our guide Lucas and driver Gustavo, drove back roads of Ushuaia, prepared grilled steak, and instructed us of 3 varieties of scotch. By the end of the day we were all great friends. A wonderful travel experience.

Unique experience; great way to spend an afternoon - This was a truly unique experience. I was able to learn about the history of Tierra del Fuego while sampling whiskey. The evening before the tour, I was contacted and given a pick up time. The guide arrived right on schedule. The group was small and we traveled in a 4x4. The ride was very comfortable and the guide had a headset/mic connected to the radio that made hearing him during the ride extremely easy. On one of my favorite stops, we took some of the fresh water tumbling down a waterfall and added it to our whiskey. As the guide explained, adding a few drops of water allowed the whiskey to "open up" and we could taste the difference before and after adding the water. Another stop let us learn about a local family's history with the area. They had a small museum on site describing their journey and way of life. It was full of personal antidotes and fun stories. Plus, one of the family members was there and available for us to ask questions. The property was beautiful and we had time to wander around. Our last stop was dinner at a local restaurant right on the water. The views and food were amazing. Between the small group tour, the whiskey, and the food, it was definitely worth the money. I'd not only recommend this tour to friends, I'd probably take it again if I'm ever in the area.
