Highlights
  • Tierra del Fuego Province - We embark on an extraordinary trek of low difficulty, heading towards a magnificent canyon featuring the Lasifashaj waterfall, situated mere kilometers from where provincial routes J and K intersect. As we proceed eastward, we leave the Andean woods and enter a transitional area that straddles the Patagonian steppe and the forest amid modest plateaus, grassy expanses, and inlets, all alongside the grand Lasifashaj river.
We will reach a spot in Bahia Cambaceres, an enigmatic location where you’ll discover that it’s not just inlets that merge amidst the striking, genuine landscapes, but also the indigenous tribes that once inhabited these lands. The trail to the confluence is lined with greenery, plant life, avian species, and a remarkable meeting of inlets. On our way back, a delightful rustic snack awaits, prepared on the coals of a Yagan fire, accompanied by laughter, tales, and insights into the heritage of the original inhabitants, culminating in an unforgettable experience. As we prepare our sumptuous lunch in the same traditional manner over the flames, we will make our way back to Ushuaia, anticipating our arrival at approximately 4:30 pm.

Additional Information

This splendid outing interweaves nature with elements of mysticism, representing the convergence of three distinct cultures: the Yámana, the indigenous canoe inhabitants of the Beagle Channel; the Haush culture, the eastern hunters; and the western settlers who shared a living space with them, such as the Bridges family.

The adventure involves a hike to one of the region’s most breathtaking waterfalls, a visit to the point where bays meet, bird-sighting, and an exploration of local plant life. After basking in the tranquility, you get to prepare and enjoy your own rustic snack! To top it off, you also get to savour a scrumptious barbecue with grilled vegetables, surrounded by an enchanting panorama that will stir your emotions and create lasting memories.
