Additional Information

Situated in the northern segment of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere reserve, Muyil serves as a glimpse into the ancient Mayan trade civilization. It offers breathtaking views of Mayan temples, including the El Castillo structure that stands 17 meters (57 ft) tall, nestled in the multifaceted semi-evergreen woodland of Sian Ka’an. An interpretive trail from this archaeological site leads to the highest viewpoint in Sian Ka’an where one can appreciate the lush jungle landscape and freshwater marshes. Upon arrival at the Muyil lagoon, a boat journey across two interconnected lagoons awaits, facilitated by a man-made canal that has served this purpose for countless centuries. Xlapak, the structure denoting the commencement of the lazy river journey, sets the stage for an incredible float down the pristine rainwater journey to the Caribbean sea. The 30-minute float surrounded by mangroves, orchids, and bromeliads is capped off with a delicious vegetarian picnic featuring seasonal fruit.

Iber and Jesus + Trip = Best Time Ever - We genuinely had an amazing time on this trip. The team that helped make their reservation were really accommodating and communicative. They made it really easy to organize the meeting location and let us know when they were out front. Iber and Jesus picked us up right on time and even came with a car seat for our nine month old. They were so helpful and accommodating, making sure that we made any necessary stops along the way. The tour was really interesting and, beautiful. The ruins were incredible and Iber knew a lot about the history and geography of the area. Once we had lunch organized, we came back after the ruins to an incredible Mayan lunch. As a vegan, they had options and it was one of the best meals on the trip. From there, we were able to float down the river in the reserve. It was really easy to do with the baby and very enjoyable. The water was warm and the area was gorgeous. I would strongly recommend this adventure. I think the price is a little steep, but it was as great as it could be.

Great company to tour Muyil and Sian Ka'an! - Our family of five had a wonderful half-day tour of Muyil and Sian Ka'an in large part because of our extremely well-informed guide Leire who showed and shared a clear passion for both Mayan history/culture and wildlife in the bio-reserve. Her enthusiasm was infectious! The river float to end the day was especially memorable and relaxing. She and our driver were also very flexible when we had to switch up the timing on our return. Thanks so much for the great experience!

Great half day trip - Sky was an excellent tour guide. The transportation was on time and we were made aware of in advance when pickup and drop off roughly was. The views and activities were great. It was a lovely half day adventure but was pricier compared to other tours that we have done in Mexico that travelled a longer distance. It was hard to see where the money went.
