Additional Information

Embark on a bona fide Arctic expedition by leading a crew of dogs. The tradition of dog sledding has been intrinsic to transportation and hunting practices in the Arctic for hundreds of years. The components of dog sledding include a musher, a sled, and a pack of dogs, making it an exhilarating undertakin for your vacation in northern Norway. Engage in this original Arctic undertaking by steering your own crew of dogs along the periphery of Tromsø. Our seasoned guides will provide beneficial advice to ensure you have an extraordinary time as a musher, immersing yourself in the wilderness. Each of our 84 affable Alaskan huskies have unique names and individual characters. They thrive on running and enjoy being petted. Our excursions traverse tundras and forests, offering a close encounter with the natural environment and the dog pack. When embarking during the day, you will be treated to a picturesque view of the Lyngen Alps, and during the nighttime, the opportunity to witness the Aurora Borealis performing its dazzling dance overhead. Two individuals share each sled and there will intervals throughout the journey to switch mushers and capture photographs.

Fun trip with great hospitality - This was a highlight of the trip. Even though Viator says otherwise, this experience does not accommodate children under 4. The dog sledding company was able to take my husband and I on separate shorter routes and they went above and beyond to fix a situation that Viator misinformed its customers about. We still had a fantastic time

Epic! - Awesome! Not cheap but a wonderful experience and would recommend to anyone. Pleasant 50 minute coach trip to the camp, then you get changed into thermal gear. Suits and boots! Then a short demo, and then you’re off for an hour’s sledding through the fields and woodland. Two people to each sled and you get to switch drivers halfway through if you want and take photos. Beautiful scenery but mixed weather. Blue skies and sunshine on first half, then a snowstorm on second half, but that just added to the great experience. Afterwards you get to pet the dogs and puppies and warm up around the fire over drinks and cake in a teepee. Epic!

Excellent - Amazing experience, really fun to drive the sled in fantastic scenery. Great guides, and warm with the thermal suits despite -10 degrees. Would recommend wearing 2 pairs of socks though.
