Highlights
 • Georgian Holidays - Pick up from your place of stay in Tbilisi in the morning.
 • Gombori Pass - You’ll start the journey to the wine land via picturesque Gombori pass, 5315 feet (1620 m) above sea level.
 • Tsinandali Palace - Your first stop is in Tsinandali, at the residence of a Kakheti nobleman of the 19th century, Alexandre Chavchavadze. The Tsinandali winery still produces wines according to the methods brought here by Chavchavadze when he revived the estate in the first half of 19th century. Take a walk in the decorative garden with a glass of wine from Tsinandali wine cellars and learn the history of the one of the royal families of Georgia.
 • Shumi Winery - Next head to Shumi winery located just a few minutes’ drives from Tsinandali. Here you’ll have a tour in the winery which presents a collection of wine-related exhibits, a history and culture department, and a wine-tasting area. Taste Shumi wines made according to European methods of wine-making.
 • Twins Wine Cellar Hotel - After visit village. Here you’ll stop at Twins Wine Cellar, a delightful agro-tourism winery and vineyard site. You’ll visit the wine museum, taste different types of wine and learn about the Georgian methods of making wine in Kvevri (large clay jars used for fermenting and storing wine).
 • Shuamta Monasteries - On the way back to Tbilisi, visit Shuamta village and two important and beautiful architectural monuments of Kakheti - Old and New Shuamta monasteries. Both of them stand in a forest of deciduous trees, which makes them look even more fascinating.

In the evening return to your place of stay in Tbilisi.

Wonderful day wine tasting outside Tbilisi - A super nice day wine tasting and discovering the history of wine in Georgia at the museum... I used to think that French wine was the best in the world... Georgian wine made me change my mind about this! It was overall such a well organized trip, the guide was absolutely lovely and super knowledgeable... Highly recommended!

Manana was a walking enciclopedia - Thank you for a beautiful day! It was very interesting ... I loved the wine museum and I want to congratulate again our host from Telavi! I suggest to the company to create another tour with just one visit to the winery ( for me should be that with the museum, or alternate the wineries) and try to visit both, Batoni Castle and Tsinandali Palace, in one trip. I was in two different trips to see both objectives. Thank you Manana and I hope wi'll meet again. Great driver with a beautiful dog.

Fantastic wine tour - We spent an amazing day touring around the Kaktheti region, visiting a local museum, having a delicious home-made lunch with a local family, visited several great and well-known wineries and learnt a lot of information about the traditional wine making quevri process. Our guide was awesome and provided an insight into the Georgian culture and history. The travel was very safe. The wine tour is really recommended, all the communication is truly professional and very quick, there was no problem at all.

Just a Perfect Day (in Kakheti Region) - After a long and agonizing choice, my friends and I have chosen a Private Wine Tour to Kakheti organized by Georgian Holidays. And it was damn straight!!! We've spent a great day in a company of a competent guide Manana, a super-professional driver Georgy and, of course, great Georgian wines. Our journey was a cool mixture of sights (like picturesque Gombori pass or prince Chavchavadze house-museum with beautiful garden) and of local wineries (my choice - Shumi and Twins). Lunch in a hospitable house in Telavi town was a great opportunity to taste a dozen (it's not a joke) authentic Georgian dishes. One more thing we've liked as much as local wines and cuisine was a relaxing rhythm of the tour. As a result, we have got enough time to learn a lot about the Georgian history, the traditional method of wine-making (Qvevri will not leave you indifferent!) and just to meditate with a glass or a jar of wine in breathtaking surroundings of a Kakheti region.

The tour was amazing. The guide and... -
The tour was amazing. The guide and driver were super friendly from the moment we met. They really make you feel at ease and relaxed. The tour brings you past a panorama point with a view over Tbilisi, and a small church along the way to Kakheti, which eases the 2hour drive from Tbilisi. After that there are 3 stops for wine tasting. The first stop is in Alexander Chavchavedze museum and wine tasting, after paying a visit to the museum we tasted 1 local white wine. They have a very nice park attached to the building as well. The next stop was in Shumi winery, where we had the chance to taste some of their award winning wines, with bread and cheese. Then the last stop was in Twin Brothers winery, where we had an amazing home cooked lunch with the wines. We had an amazing day and we can recommend this tour to anybody!
