On this amazing day we will explore the south of Armenia visiting 3 regions. The tour will be a long one about 11-12 hours. On this day you will ride longest cable car in the world, listed in Guinness world book of records which will take you to a 9 AD. century Monastery named “Tatev” Also you will visit 9th century located on a rocky peninsula more than 100 meters above the Vorotan River. According to tradition the relics of the Apostles, Sts. Peter and Paul, were placed under the dome’s supporting pillars. Also we will visit Karahundj (Armenia’s Stonehenge). This stone circle, now shown to be a prehistoric observatory, long predates Stonehenge in England. Ancient inscriptions found here may mark the birthplace of the Zodiac – and of Western Civilization itself. Possibly it was the world’s first astronomical observatory founded 7500 years ago. On the way back to Yerevan you will have a wine tasting at Areni village.
