Additional Information

We will make our way to the Poblet Monastery, a Cistercian abbey recognized as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. This impressive architectural complex boasts nearly 1000 years of history and is one of the top three largest and most complete in the world. From there, we will journey to the birthplace of the renowned Priorat wine. Touring one of the local wineries is a must to fully appreciate the rich taste and the unique orology of the soil that influences it. Our next stop is Siurana, a breathtaking location perched on a rocky hill. It’s home to two must-see’s: the remnants of a ninth-century Arab fortification, and the Church of Santa Maria, a twelfth-century Romanesque building. We will also explore local wineries and sample some of the region’s best wines. And, of course, our tour won’t be complete without a visit to the striking and remote region’s Cartuja de Escaladei. This location is home to the archaeological remains of the first Carthusian monastery on the Iberian Peninsula, which is also rich in 1000 years of history.
