Duration: 8 hours
Cancellation: 1 day learn more
Highlights
  • Taroudant - A gentle drive through the souss plain, after a quick stop on the way to spot the famous Argan tree climbing goats, will bring us to the ancient walled city of Taroudant (mini Marrakesh). A very friendly Berber village overlooked by the high atlas mountains. Taroudant, 80km from agadir, explores the 16th century capital of Saadian Empire.
After a quick visit to Taroudant’s small traditional souk and a short climb to the fortified ramparts, that reveals the true beauty of the surrounding countryside.
  • Tiout - we will drive to the Oasis and the Kasbah (fortress) of Tiout, where a very tasty lunch is waiting for us.
After lunch break, it will be the right time to stroll through the palm trees on a donkey ride and around the Kasbah where the movie of Ali Baba and 40 thieves was filmed in the 50s.
The return to the hotel is scheduled around 5o’clock.

What a wonderful day! - First and foremost our guide Hassan was simply fantastic! This tour gave us a true flavour of the real Morocco and the wonderful Berber people. Plenty of goays in trees too! Taroundant was a lively bustling place, loved exploring the Medina and just sitting drinking coffee in the square before heading to the Kasbah at Tiout for a traditional Berber lunch, tagine and couscous. Then a tour around the Oasis with a local guide (Rachid??). A simply wonderful day, thank you Admire Morocco and Hassan.

Superb day out - Everything ran to time, the guide was excellent, speaking fluent English and French and keeping us informed throughout the trip of interesting fact and figures. Would definitely recommend. Indeed I'm thinking of booking another trip with them later in the week!

Lovely day out. - What a lovely trip out, we started off in Tiout up in the Kasbah with a lovely walk around the oasis, you can go on the donkey but I decided to walk it. Then a lunch of tangine which was beautiful. We then headed to Taroudant and had a walk around the souk which was more a locals souk but well worth a look and don't forget to barter to get a good price. All in all a wonderful day out.

Good tour - This was a good tour of Taroudant and Tiout. We started with mint tea at the Kasbah and then had a walk on a donkey (priced separately at 50 DH) per donkey. We walked to some gardens where Ali Baba and the 40 thieves was filmed and then went back to the Kasbah for a nice lunch. We then got on the minibus to Taradount and had a guided tour of the local Souk in the city and saw the walls. The local tours where done by local tour guides who demanded tips from us after each part of the tour (they were asking for 50DH at least). The tour guide who drove the bus was brilliant and really helpful and great with the little one. The tour was a mixed group and unfortunately we were with a group of 5 Parisians who were not particularly sociable and took a long time at each venue to take photos and asked multiple questions. This at times did lead to us not being completely proficient in French not being particularly engaged. Perhaps splitting the groups into French and English may resolve this problem or avoiding majorities. Overall the tour was good and the challenges were predominantly with the local tour guides demanding tips and the group composition. I would recommend the tour guide and the transport was fine.
