- Kawashiri Sake Brewery - This brewery has a very unusual sake. You can purchase a sampler set of three of their most popular products to enjoy in the historic building.
- Hirase Shuzo Brewery - This brewery’s flagship sake is the most popular among the locals. You can sample any of their wide range of products.
- Kamisannomachi - We will pass through the scenic old town as we walk from one brewery to another (up to seven, if you are up to it).

Additional Information
You will enjoy walking through scenic old-town Takayama as you make the rounds of six sake breweries, sampling a variety of different styles. Remember to take it slow. That’s a lot of sake!
Your guide is an experienced brewery worker who can explain what gives each sake its unique flavor. By the end of the tour, you should have a good idea of what kind of sake you like, and how to find it.
Adults only, please (20 years old or older). Children may accompany parents free of charge, but we cannot offer them any sake!

Great sake brewery tour - He gave us a very detailed and easy-to-understand explanation of Takayama's history and geography, the characteristics of Hirase Sake Brewery, and the sake brewing process. We were even shown inside the sake brewery, which gave us a good understanding of the manufacturing process. During the tasting, he also explained the characteristics of each sake, which deepened our understanding even further as we enjoyed the taste. It was a great tour!

Best Sake tasting tour in Takayama - William (Will) was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He went at a comfortable pace and helped us understand our taste preferences and how to choose/read sake bottles. One of the best Sake tasting tours I've ever done. Great choice if you have couple hours to spare in Takayama.
