A Lovely Sunday in Tokyo - Our guide, Ahsan, was on time, friendly and knowledgeable. He had a thoughtful plan for our visit to Tokyo and we were able to maximize our stops without feeling rushed. We had a nice chat along the way that helped us to better understand Japanese life and culture. Although an attraction or two were closed on Sunday, we didn't feel as if we missed out on anything critical to the tour. Ahsan allowed us ample time to shop for clothing and souvenirs as well. All in all, a fascinating and delightful day in Tokyo.

Great Tokyo Car tour! - Fantastic tour! Our driver Adeel Jalib was excellent. He took us to key areas in Tokyo while being very flexible to customize additional places we wanted to visit. Would highly recommend him and this tour company!

Careful driver - Goraya was very nice. Took us to a park to see cherry blossoms bc we came too early in the spring. Would have liked more interaction with him like talking about the areas he was driving us in but it was a great day

Take an all day taxi at a fraction of the price. - Great trip around the major sites of Tokyo. Because the tour guide is also the driver, you never actually have a guide at any important venue. Basically, take an all day taxi and spend a fraction of the price. Otherwise, Ahsan was great.

Bad experience. - The information when booking was misleading. It referred to places we would visit during our “tour” of Tokyo. The driver didn’t even know the city nor explained anything about the sites. I have used Viator in other locations but this time, the service was unexpectedly terrible.

Not a guide, don’t waste your money - When you book a “private tour” with a “government licensed guide” who speaks your language, you should assume that the person taking you around Tokyo would actually understand the places you’re going to and can explain their importance. That is not the case with this tour. The “guide” was just a driver. He drove us to various places, dropped us by the curb or in a parking lot near a site, and left us to get out and guide ourselves. Our first stop was the Tsukiji Fish Market, which was incredibly crowded and chaotic if you’ve never been before. We wasted so much time trying to figure out where to go. He did not manage time well and ended up missing different things to see because they were closed. On our last stop we ended up by the zoo at Ueno Park after it was closed and he just pointed us to the park and let us try to figure out ourselves what to do. The driver not from Japan or Tokyo, was completely unfamiliar with the city, needed to constantly refer to GPS on his phone, and was distracted enough that he missed turns and didn’t see pedestrians and bicyclists. It was a very stressful and disappointing day and the price of nearly $800 was outrageous. I could have done the same with a cab app for a fraction of that price. Full disclosure: they gave a partial refund but it still wasn’t close to fair. Please avoid if you want to enjoy a tour of Tokyo.

Worst experience ever! - Our worst experience ever on a tour. Guide barely spoke english and didn’t understand our basic questions. When he finally arrived at our hotel (after searching for him) he said “where do you want to go?”…while still sitting in his car…he didn’t get out to greet us. The car was tiny. We responded with “we booked a city tour so where should we go?”…he said “up to you”! Onthe way to Meiji Shrine we asked to tell us about the city…what was the population etc. he said it’s a big city with lots of people…he didn’t even know the population! It was clear he had no interest in being a tour guide. When we got to the shrine he said “now go out of car and walk to the shrine”…no explanation about the shrine, why it was important to visit, etc. When we asked him to explain he said “I will park the car and follow you to help you take a picture”…we asked please to help us by explaining things as it was our first time in Tokyo…he was getting increasingly irritated at being asked to give us a tour. We waited for him to park the car and after ten minutes got a message from his boss to say the tour was cancelled! They left us stranded. Tbh it was a relief as it was obvious the operators of this tour were only interested in making money and not giving a proper tour of this amazing city. We went back to our hotel and our concierge helped us arrange an amazing city tour with Japanese drivers all the way. The hotel staff had seen us with the tour operator that morning and could tell that the tour guide was a problem so were happy to see us come back to the hotel so they could help us. Please don’t book this operator and instead ask for a Japanese guide or someone from the city who will help your navigate this fantastic city from a locals perspective.
