Highlights
  • WaterMaarq - Make your way to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula to meet your local guide and the Captain of your Eco RIB boat. Sorrento is around a 1.5hr drive from Melbourne.

Meeting at the Sorrento Pier at least 25 minutes before departure (allow more time in summer), you’ll be greeted by your Guide and introduced to fellow guests.

Slip into your wetsuit and listen to a short briefing on what to expect during the 2-hour boat excursion. Hop in to the boat and take your seat; it may be a lively ride.

Join a boutique tour with just twelve guests and enjoy a remarkable snorkelling experience.

Extending around Australia’s southern coastline is a series of reefs holding some of the most productive ecosystems on the planet. The Great Southern Reef features extensive kelp seaweed forests that support many marine species that are not found anywhere else on Earth.

Home to a variety of marine life including fur seals, zebra fish, little penguins, bottlenose dolphins, rays, giant cuttlefish, spider crabs, sponges, kelp and seadragons. You’ll be smiling from ear to ear swimming freely with entertaining seals, listen curiously to the grunts and clicks of fish working the reef and be mesmerised by the rich colours you could never have imagined live beneath the surface.

Snorkel on the surface with your expert guide and feel safe looking at local marine wildlife. Travelling aboard our RIB boat, you’ll get away from it all and enjoy a local adventure. Spend an exciting couple of hours on the vast Port Phillip Bay, snorkelling by boat along the Mornington Peninsula. Swim with seals and fish species found only in temperate waters.

Your friendly crew will guide you as you explore the incredible diversity and magic of our mysterious underwater world.

Amazing experience - Amazing experience, would highly recommend it. We saw 4 sea dragons, tons of seals and snorkeled in an amazing reef of kelp. The crew was super nice and provided a lot of information on the sites and the animals.

Fun in the bay - My kids and I had an absolute ball with WaterMaarq. We enjoyed the smaller boat attention. The kids and I can't believe that a seal pup played in the water with us. What a day! Thank you very much for a fantastic experience

Beautiful - It was beautiful and memorable day, but don’t forget to bring some motion sickness meds if you have issues with it. And wear wet suits no matter how hot the day is, water is chilling.

Incredible morning - Incredible as always! Marlon and Tilly were professional and informative. Lots of laughs and smiles! We were lucky enough to see the beautiful dolphins in their sanctuary, Tilly showed us the weedy sea dragons, lots of fish life and a few seals at Popes Eye and finished the morning off swimming with the playful show off seals at Chinamans Hut!

100% recommend! Loved it!! - We saw so many seals!!! Swimming with them was one of the best things I've ever done. Seeing the weedy sea dragon, rays, dolphins and sea birds were an added bonus. It was lovely having a smaller boat to zip around on as it made it feel like a private tour away from the crowds. Only downside was that I can't do it every day. Great value for money. Staff are amazing! Loved it!

Great time, seals the best! - Weedy seadragons we’re cool, pretty easy to spot, and only about 3m deep, so no trouble diving down for a good close-up. A bit disappointed not to swim with dolphins, but enjoyed watching them ride the ferry’s bow wave for a while. Diving at the marine reserve was good, with a wide variety of fish, plus mutton birds and seals, all easily viewed. The big highlight, though, was swimming with the seals. What an amazing and unforgettable experience! They were playful and inquisitive, happy to get close, both above and below water, even with my wife on her noodle. Would’ve liked a fresh shower back at the pier, maybe the council should install one at the nearby toilet block… Marlon and Angus were excellent hosts, both in and out of the water, with plenty of interesting information. They did a number of subtle headcounts, and were always able and willing to help. Thanks guys, great tour!
