our March 2024 Guatemala tour - We had an amazing time with authentic Guatemala tours, Fabio took care of us every step of the way. He led us to knowledgeable and accommodating guides. We felt safe and taken care of all thru out. We live in NY, were used to good accommodations and authentic Guatemala delivered above and beyond.

Lake Atitlan 🫶🏻 - Beautiful place and excellent coordination, the hotel with a spectacular view, they always transferred us on time.

Beautiful once in a lifetime experience - This was the best Viator experience I have ever booked. My wife and I travel all over and always use viator. This was easily the most amazing experience. The breakfast was delicious! The boat ride to 3 different Mayan towns was amazing. Each town is colorful and full of beauty. I highly recommend!!!!

Great visit to the lake and surrounding small towns - We were able to customize the trip a little, and our guide Gustavo was very flexible, knowledgeable, and warm. We met and interacted with locals- lending itself to a more authentic experience.

Would recommend! Don't hesitate - Fun tour but could use more communication about where we are going and what we are doing prior to doing it. That being said, I felt safe, loved the pace and the guides were very helpful. Transportation from Guatemala City was smooth and very comfortable. I will remember this trip for a long time and the unforgettable views and experiences like the lake views, the colour in the towns, and seeing Maximon!

Atitlan Lakes - It was a wonderful tour of Lake Atitlan. Ask for Joel, he's great and really knowledgeable. My family and I had a blast and would like to do it again.

Great day - Transportation for the two of us from our hotel in Guatemala City was included. Our driver, Juan Carlos, was on time at 5:30 am, and was so kind, safe, helpful. (He stayed with us all day to keep an eye on the tour.) He drove a small Hyundai. After a good breakfast in Panajachel (included in the tour), we were led to the waterfront and loaded into a small, covered boat which easily accommodated our group, which turned out to be nine people. Our tour guide, Nicolás, gave us a short talk about the lake and villages and an overview of our tour. The boat took us first to San Juan. We were there about 90 minutes, first at a chocolate shop that included a demonstration of how they process chocolate there. The demonstrator followed us around at the end encouraging purchases. Next we went to a weaving co-op for another demonstration and shopping opportunity. (Both of these demonstrations are available to any tourist who walks in.) We were given a very small amount of time to look around the small town, which is extraordinary and well decked out for tourists. The boat then took us for a 20-minute stop in San Pedro, an unremarkable town. Our last stop by boat was Santiago, a great little town with a good view. We returned to Panajachel by boat and Juan Carlos drove us back to our hotel. If you can get yourself to and from Panajachel, you may be able to do all this on your own by hiring a boat at a significantly reduced price. Nicolás was good, but the amount of tour guiding he did was not worth the expense of the tour. He seemed invested in how much we bought, especially in Santiago, his home town.

Too much for too little - Looking back, the trip would have been significantly cheaper if done without the tour and much more time to explore the few places visited. About 5 hours driving to and from Antigua, sitting at breakfast nearly 1 hour, and lunch for an hour left us with barely any time in any town. While the guides were nice, definitely better if you do a self tour or if they slash the price but half.

Picked up late and very regimented - We signed up for a Private Tour thinking it would just be our family. We had private transportation from Antigua but then were in a group of 16 mostly Spanish speakers. The guide did each little talk in Spanish then English but we weren't able to bond with others due to the language barrier. The guide didn't share a ton of information and the tour was very regimented with very little free time. One of the reasons we opted for what we thought was a private tour was to move at our own pace and so the kids felt comfortable asking questions. The tour said it would pick us up at 5:30am but the driver arrived at 6:10am (the driver was great and was told to get us at 6) but sadly, we waited for 40 minutes outside 5:30-6:10am.
