Great experience and a must when in Sofia - This tour is a must for those looking to understand how Bulgaria worked under communism - the good and bad bits. Our guide was Stefan who was absolutely brilliant; he conducted the tour in perfect English with both humour and facts, making it educational but fun too. Most definitely recommend.

Informative and interesting, well worth the minimal cost. - Very interesting and informative walking tour that hits all of the high (low?) lights of the communist era in Bulgaria. Our guide (Dino) was very personable and a native Bulgarian who could relate his personal experience.

Informative and engaging tour - This 3 hour tour was very informative and a great introduction to socialist and communist ideology. Our guide, Niki, even gave us his personal experience which gave us an insight into how life was. The walking wasn't too much but we covered a good amount of ground. Great humour and great storytelling - would recommend!

Don’t miss this tour. - Fabulous tour. One of the best I’ve ever had. Nikola was extremely knowledgeable and also a good sense of humor. It was a three hour walking tour and he was very good to take pauses where we sat and listened to him. He gave us a terrific review of the events leading up to communism and the effect on Bulgaria after communism ended. It was a most comprehensive and very entertaining afternoon. T

Fascinating - I am so glad we took this tour. Our guide took us to a great many places, all in easy walking distance within the city center. Standing in front of buildings you wouldn't look at twice, he told us stories about events that transpired there. Some were painful, shocking, or sad. Some were funny or thought-provoking. Most were a combination. But none were boring.

Waste of money - We were 5-10 minutes late at the rendezvous but there was no one there, after we tried calling the operator it gave an automated message that the phone number wasn’t in use.
