Stop At: Sharm El Sheikh, Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai

There will be a bus ride to the top of Mount Sinai, where Moses is said to have received the Ten Commandments. In the evening, you’ll be picked up from your Sharm el Sheikh hotel and driven the three hours to Moses Mountain.

At 2:00 AM, one of our guides will start a three-hour climb of 2,285 metres up the mountain. If you decide to embark on a lengthy journey, there are 700 steps you can follow. When you follow this route, a magnificent sunrise is waiting for you at the mountain’s summit. If you don’t feel up to the challenge, you can take a camel ride up the mountain to the first set of 700 steps. Once the sun has completely risen, it is time to pack up and drive back to Sharm el Sheikh.

Following your descent from Mount Sinai, your guide will meet you at the monastery’s entrance and drive you to the Transfiguration Church, the Burning Bush, and Moses’ Well before bringing you back to your hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh. The monastery restricts the number of days it is accessible to visitors as a consequence of the covid.

Hiking to one of Egypt’s highest mountains from Sharm el Sheikh will allow you to see the dawn from Mount Sinai’s summit. You will ascend the 7,497-foot (2,285-m) peak in the predawn darkness, witness first light illuminate the chapel and mosque on the mountaintop, and then descend to the 6th-century Monastery of St. Catherine constructed where Moses is thought to have seen the Burning Bush.
