  • Amasanderia San Sebastián - In this stop, we will have the opportunity to taste the classic “Empanadas de Pino”, or the Empanada de Queso for vegetarians. Also, you can try local sweets such as “chilenitos” or “alfajores”.
  • Plaza General Alejandro Gacitúa - This plaza is also known as the “widest cité in Chile”, this is a type of working housing model and in this particular place, we will be able to understand a bit more about how it is like to live in a local neighborhood.
  • Carmen 1200 - We will visit the “Asilo Hermanitas de los Pobres”, a former retirement home managed by the congregation of the “Hermanitas de los Pobres” nuns. After the 2010 earthquake, this 6400 square meter construction was emptied and abandoned until 2017, when the municipality of Santiago purchased this property and started a renovation and cleaning project to turn this protected heritage site into a public park, which is now renamed to “Vecina Alicia Cáceres”, a local, recognized neighbor from our Matta Sur neighborhood.
  • Hasta que te Encontré - LUGAR PARA COMER - RESTAURANT - This funky - vintage restaurant is decorated with several props that are used by the “Hasta que te Encontré” agency, a local production company that provides different vintage props for tv and movie sets. This restaurant provides a daily menu inspired in local, homemade food.

Amazing tour - Amazing tour. Milo really knew what he was talking about and the places you visit would not be able to be found without his help, the locals we met at each location were passionate about the food they made. Milo went above and beyond in leading this tour as well as some general I formation about Chile, and the food was amazing, would recommend to everyone. We brought our 19month old along which was not an issue and Milo made her feel included.

Santiago - We had one afternoon in Santiago and wanted to see street art and an alternative side to Santiago. We asked on short notice for a guided tour (12 hours). We first went to museora cielo albierto, an outdoor art project done in one of the exterior suburbs. the art was fantastic and the area comfortable to travel around by foot. secondly we went to an open air market (name I cant remeber) to get an alternative shopping experience in Santiago. the market was teeming with people and gave an interesting perspective on the city. also purchased a print from a local artist called, Alejandro Gonzalez, who has a fairly extensive amount of his works for sale at this market. his influence in the local street art was pointed out to us by our guide, Camillo. Throughout the trip our guide, Camillo, explained us the meanings behind some of the art pieces about the people who lived and live in the areas. a brief history of the buildings etc, a general education to an area of the city I never have visited or know about on my own. the overall experience was a unique and eye opening experience.
