Silver, Revolution, Civil War and the birth of Queretaro - We set out on this tour to learn about the aqueduct and some of the colonial architecture we had seen online. The tour provided this but so much more! We learned about the way that the Spanish quest and discovery of silver had global effects. And how so much of the work of the Friars in the area was driven by events in Europe. This tour gave us a breadth of understanding of the interconnection of Spanish drive and the revolution that followed and how this grew the village of Queretaro. This was a great eye-opening tour

The best way to experience Queretaro - This tour brought the history of Mexico to life and how important Queretaro was in the creation of the country. This was so much more than a city tour. I loved all the stories behind the important events which made Queretaro. Armando has an amazing knowledge of the history which he gives as we wound through the streets. Without this tour one has no idea about what one is seeing.

Excellent tour - Armando was a great guide. He has extensive knowledge about local history and architecture and is passionate about sharing this knowledge. While walking through town he covered history from before the Spanish arrived up to present, with a concentration on the important roll Querehetro played the 1810 revolution and the expulsion of the French in the 1860’s. He showed us several lovely churches and convents and discussed their history and architecture. He also shared interesting and sometimes humorous anecdotes. Armando’s English is excellent. Our tour lasted over five hours. Great experience, highly recommend.

Wow, fantastic tour!!! - Armando is an excellent tourguide and well represents both Queretaro and Mexico. His extensive research of and obvious passion for this history and architecture led me to believe he might have retired from teaching university level history. His detailed insights into Mexico’s contentious and complicated but immensely interesting history and his ability to objectively convey all sides of that history make him special and I wish he would have accepted my tip at the end of our wonderful tour. Highly recommend! Sorry it took so long to do this.

Excellent tour - This was one of the best tours we have done. Starting out I double booked myself and Armando was kind enough to allow us to reschedule our tour. Armando spent 4 hours with us giving us a very organized history of Queretaro. Earlier in our trip we did another tour of the city and it did not compare to this one. Armando was very good at explaining the history in a chronological order as opposed to showing us a building along the way and just giving us facts. The timeline he provided helped me understand Queretaro's rich history. Also to note, his English was exceptional.

Comprehensive tour of Queretaro - Armando is a very knowledgeable guide. He presents the sites in the context of Mexican history in a very engaging way. The walk includes essentially all of the most significant sites in Queretaro, including several interiors. We learned a lot about the timeline of colonial and revolutionary Mexican history from Armando. Highly recommended.
