Great Trip and Experience - We booked three trips during our stay with this wonderful company. This one was a great experience. Picked up from our hotel and given an explanation about the turtles and their link to Cape Verde. At the beach they had staff all around keeping their eyes peeled for turtles. The first one we found didn't settle but staff had found another further up which was digging a hole and about to lay eggs. We got to it in time and despite their being about 30 people they split us up and got plenty time close up to see the turtle lay its eggs then head back to the sea. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. Highly recommended!

Turtles by night - It was amazing to be out on a pitch Black night under cloudless skies on a beach looking for egg laying Turtles. It felt strange at first until you become accustomed to the dark as the only light is a Red light used by the guide. It is all part of the islands bid to protect the Loggerhead Turtles. The tour included pick up and drop off from you hotel accompanied by a very knowledgeable guide who explained everything that was going on. Dark clothes are required and camera / phone flashes are banned as it disturbs the Turtles so any photographs / videos have to be done by moon light. We saw 3 Turtles either digging the nest, laying eggs or covering the nest over and heading back to the sea. A very humbling experience.

If you love National Geographic documentaries, do this! - I can't explain how fulfilling this experience was. It was one the best and magical things I've seen. Nature in it's pure state. The turtles are amazingly big. There are a lot of them on the beach too. One thing though: It is important not to use flash when taking photos BEFORE the turtles leave their eggs on the beach. Otherwise they'll flee.
