Hike to Panauti (4hrs) and Live with the Locals.

Kailashnath Mahadev - You will start your day with a transfer from Kathmandu to Sanga and (arrive at 08:00 AM) and start a hike from Sanga to Panauti (5 hrs.) via an off the beaten path with a private guide. This unique route takes you along some beautiful sceneries and villages. Arriving at Panauti, you’ll will be welcomed and assigned a homestay here you will have lunch, interact with the host family and rest for few hours.

Indreshwar Mahadev Temple - In the evening, the host will take you on a tour to the Indreshwor Temple walking through the alleys of Panauti. The temple dates back to the late 13th century and is one of the largest pagoda style temple in Nepal. The temple has a vast courtyard hosts many small temple alongside the Panauti museum.

Panauti Community Homestay - Wrapping up the day, you move back to the homesaty where you can experience cooking traditional Nepali Cuisine with the host and enjoy the meal for the dinner.

Village walk and back

Panauti Community Homestay - The next day, the host will guide you to nearby village. Here you can explore the village lifestyle, farms and local activities. After the walk you will be escorted back to the home for breakfast and then to the community hall where your ride back to Kathmandu will be waiting.

If you are a morning person and do not hesitate waking up early be sure to ask your host to take you to observe the sunrise.

Hiking along a pristine route you will encounter nature, locals and their culture. The hike ends at the historical town of Panauti where you stay in one of the community homestay and experience living with the locals by interacting and discovering their culture and activities.

The tour will take you to the Indreshwor temple through the alleys of Panauti and to nearby villages where you will explore the local lifestyle.

At the homestay, you can get a chance to try out Nepali outfits and learn to cook Nepali cuisine with the host and family.

We will meet at the bus stop at Sanga. You can catch a bus from Ratnapark in Kathmandu going to Dhulikhel or Panauti and drop off at Sanga.

2 nights with family in Panauti - I spent two wonderful nights in Panauti through Community Homestay. This is for the type of person who wishes to venture off the beaten track and travels to see what the rest of the world is actually like.
