- Monkey Sanctuary, Hartbeespoort in South Africa - It will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive at the location. On arrival you will have a 15 minute rest stop. The monkey forest walk takes approximately 1 hour. At the monkey sanctuary, you will walk through a beautiful forested area where the monkeys and lemurs are free roaming. The monkeys might interact with you by jumping onto you to catch a ride or to get some food. There are many species of monkeys and lemurs that live inside the sanctuary and your guide will tell you interesting facts about the different species and their habits. Many of the monkeys are rescued from being pets, so supporting the sanctuary means these animals can live out their lives in a natural area with others of their kind. After the tour you will have 15 minutes to browse the gift shop and get refreshments. Then we will return to the original pick up location which should take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel or assigned meeting location, and set off on a picturesque journey through the Magaliesburg mountains. Upon reaching our destination, we’ll have you check in, giving you time to explore the charming souvenir shop, enjoy a refreshing beverage, or simply soak in the tranquil ambiance of nature.
Next, we embark on a brief trek through a lush forest, navigating a timber walkway nestled amongst the tree canopy. Gradually, we make our way up above the trees to a stone escarpment offering a breathtaking vista. A swinging bridge adds an element of excitement to this outdoor escapade suitable for all age groups, although a moderate level of physical fitness is beneficial.
This serene locale is also the refuge of a monkey sanctuary, providing a safe haven for rescued lemurs and monkeys. The inquisitive primates may choose to approach or even leap on you, an integral part of their exploration of their environment.
