Gorgeous scenery, great wines, and EXTRAORDINARY guide - FANTASTIC trip!! Our guide, Monica, was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and had fantastic information about the region. Sergio, our driver, had a whole playlist to accompany the monuments we visited! Gorgeous scenery, and great winery. Highly recommended.

Great landscapes. Very informative tours. Very friendly and knowledgeable bus driver/guide. - Great landscapes. Very informative tours. On this Tour to "Cafayate" we had a very friendly bus driver-tour guide (even spoke five languages) and had a great knowledge of geology (presumably studied). This tour was a great experience.

Great, fun tour - Our tour guide Maru(hope I write it right) was excellent. She spoke Spanish and English very well. She clearly enjoys her job and she explained things very well. The only thing that was not that great was the wine tour. They were cleaning stuff so certain parts of the winery were not open. Also, when we asked to try a different wine and we would pay extra, they declined. (It was not a top notch wine, just their Rose, which can be skipped)! All in all the tour was great! Highly recommended it.

Go for the scenic drive not the wine - The drive through the gorge up to Cafayate is spectacular in both directions. The wine tour itself was marginal and we only tasted their cheapest products. Our guide, Eduardo, spoke excellent English and had lots of great information to share.

Unbelievable scenery - A journey full of beautiful scenery before getting to Cafayate where we had a delicious meal. Stopping points all the way to witness and photograph some of God’s amazing work. At Cafayate, and all the stopping points on the journey, local people sold their handcrafted and beautiful work so be ready to grab some bargains. I would highly recommend this trip.

Beautiful experience - Very nice tour! We stopped at many beautiful spots to take photos and enjoy the view. The guide spoke English and spanish very well. She explained a lot about the environment and history of the region. I totally recommend!

Good Tour! - A great tour with a great guide! The stops along the way are nice to take pictures but not enough time to do exploring. Additionally, the wine tastings are a nice touch but felt rushed. I would highly recommend staying in Cafayate for a night.

Great guide, stunning scenery, uncomfortable bus ride - Monica was a great guide! She was very personable and kind and told us tons of very interesting information along the way. If anything, I think she may have talked a bit *too* much, haha. There were times during the day when most people wanted to sleep, and she continued talking although most guests were trying to sleep. The pickup process seemed to be very orderly from what I saw - on group bus tours, I’ve often had this part of the day be a disaster. The bus for our excursion was quite small - it held 20 people (including the driver and the guide), and EVERY SINGLE SEAT was occupied, even though I went on this tour in the off season. The bus was more than tight, it was at times downright uncomfortable with no one having any room to spread out. The tour was overall very good - the places you see on the tour (Garganta del Diablo, el Anfiteatro, etc.) are impressive and very much worth seeing. My favorites were the first stop at Quebrada de las Conchas and the stop at Mirador Tres Cruces - the scenery at that stop was breathtaking. Cafayate is a nice town to visit; I enjoyed the ~2 hours of free time we had there. On my tour, Monica told us (very honestly) that the winery included in our tour was sort of meh, not terribly impressive, and that they only offer 2 wines for tasting. She ended up giving my group the option to go to a different winery that would cost us each around 1000 ARS, which the entire group eagerly accepted. That winery (Nanni) was fantastic - we got to taste 5 great wines for 1400 ARS (or they offered a lower cost option as well). In the past, I have not been a fan of torrontés wine, but I liked the one at Nanni so much that I bought a bottle, instead of purchasing a Malbec or another red that I usually prefer. During the free time, I also visited and did a tasting at a second winery, El Tránsito, which was also quite good (4 wines in the tasting for 1000 ARS). The restaurant Monica recommended for lunch was no frills but good and fast, and reasonably priced. I loved the fact that they stopped at all many places for us to take photos - that was fantastic. We probably made 8-9 stops during the day. Aside from the bus, the only part of the day that really annoyed me is that we went way out of our way on the return trip to take 2 passengers to the Salta airport. This delayed our return to town by at least 30-40 minutes. I don’t know how these passengers arranged this airport drop off, but I found it unprofessional for a tour company to do this and inconvenience 18 other people. Overall - the tour and guide were great, the bus was packed and uncomfortable. This tour is worth what they ask for it, but I would not pay any more than this, as you could otherwise rent a car and do the trip on your own much more comfortably, and on your own schedule.

Only half in english - I booked a tour in english but the entire tour around the vineyard was in spanish only. The guide was lovely and spoke fine english. But kinda disappointed about the vineyard experience. The bus was fine. The amount of breaks was fine as well.

Poorly organized, not worth your time - While Fernando the guide was very nice and informative, the tour overall was a disappointment. The worst part was the wine tasting. Even though we signed up for an English tour, the winery tour was in Spanish only, so we wasted out time. The wine itself – they give you two nano-portions of unremarkable wine, one white semi-sweet and one red - malbec. There are no other choices, the group size is huge (they combined at least two groups), and, as I said, narration was in Spanish only. Add to that quite an uncomfortable ride in the back of a van for a very, very long time on a very, very bumpy road – and you get the picture. If you are unlucky to sit in the last row of the van, you have practically no access to windows, so you get to see very little. The restaurant where you are encouraged to have lunch is probably the most expensive in town, but clearly not the best. Also, I would like to say here a few words about Expedia, because Expedia bought this tour from Viator who in turn bought it from Tiamar. When we were buying this tour, we were required to provide a lot of personal information, including our passport numbers and home addresses as well as the hotel information. However, the tour confirmation we received from Expedia misses a lot of important information, such as whether or our we will be picked up from the hotel and what time and if not, where we are supposed to go and by what time.
