Highlights

Experience the magic of Lapland and photograph the amazing Northern Lights! Going Aurora hunting with our professional guides, you have the best possible chance to witness the Northern Lights. We are Lapland’s top tour company specialised in Aurora photography and will ensure that you get the photos of a lifetime.

The focus of our expedition is the Rovaniemi area and we travel by minivan. We start with a team meeting about the tour of the day. You will get a short briefing about current weather conditions, Aurora forecasts and about our destination of the day.

Northern Lights are always unpredictable and there is no guarantee that we will find them every night. However, we give you the best possible chance to experience and photograph these mystical wonders of the Arctic area. What sets us apart from other tour providers is a genuine determination of finding the Northern Lights. With us you are a member of an exclusive team led by a professional expedition guide. Simply put, we are real Aurora hunters and rely on the following to succeed in our mission:

  • background research into local weather and Aurora forecasts
  • live information feed coming direct into our minivan
  • local knowledge of all the best viewing spots
  • willingness to go the extra mile

During the night, we normally go to 2-3 different locations which are always chosen according to local weather conditions and photographic opportunities. This means that if we have a clear sky and a possibility to see the Aurora 100 km away, we will take the chance and drive you there.

Altogether we have over 50 locations from which we can choose the best ones each night! After reaching our destination we leave the minivan and continue on foot to reach the perfect spots in the middle of the nature. In the destination our guide, a professional photographer, helps you prepare your cameras for Northern Lights photography and we are ready for the show of a lifetime!

Great Trip! - Despite not being able to see the Northern Lights with the bare eye, we had a fantastic tour! Our guide, Juhani, took us to a frozen lake where we could observe the clear night sky and even see the Milky Way. We were able to capture the Northern Lights there with our camera. Juhani provided us with a lot of interesting information about the Northern Lights and always helped us set our camera settings correctly. We would book this tour again anytime.

Great experience - We had a wonderful experience with Ryan and Juhani. We were in Ryan's car and he gave us a thorough explanation of the science behind the auroras. We saw the lights almost as soon as we came to their private area near a frozen lake. They wasted no time in setting up the photography equipment and took pictures to our hearts' content. Yuhani grilled amazing sausages! Earlier in the week, we'd taken the same trip with Sarah. While we didn't see the lights on that one because of cloud cover, she made all the effort andher passion was evident. Overall, great professionals and a good experience! Also love that the company provides the necessary shoes and overalls.

Great experience! - The people organising the tour were great! Good communication, quick setup with gear, hot drinks and snacks. Our guide was very friendly, tried to coordinate with other people out driving, to try and find the best spots for us. We were lucky and saw the Aurora in 2 different locations. I would definitely recommend them!

10/10 adventure - The effort the guide (forgot name sorry!!) put in was amazing! For about 20 minutes the sky was clear enough for us capture the Northern Lights then we had to venture further as the clouds had formed again. A very fun trip that finished with a nice log fire where we sat and cooked sausages and drank hot berry juice!

Santa Clause and other dreams coming true - A worth wise trip to Rovaniemi in the end of March. Temperatures were fine, as well as a lot of daylight. Still full of snow, some wind and perfect for spending time outdoors. A lot of heart warming experience, aurora borealis, finish sauna and bathing in the icy water, huskies and rain deer sledges, and, of course, Santa Clause, an emotional meeting a character from a child's imagination.

I don’t recommend this tour - My decision to choose this agency was driven by the reviews — most of them of Oren. However, we had no luck and the tour guy assigned showed no interest nor knowledge about the northern lights. He was nice but he never explained anything about the lights (which is expected). We went to a couple of places and after seeing the auroras (maybe two times) he took us back to Rovaniemi. The experience did not meet the expectations and I truly believe that the person you pick for this job must be passionate and knowledgeable — I would not recommend this tour.

They didn't cancel the tour when the probability of seeing the aurora was very low - The conditions were not at all favorable to be able to see the lights. We only had a few glimpses of the dawn... I think that, knowing from the outset that the probability of seeing the lights was extremely low, they should have rescheduled the experience (or given that possibility), just as we later heard other people report that their company had done . On the following day, the forecasts were better, which was quite frustrating. However, the guide was very friendly and made an effort to make the experience as good as possible, offering a good explanation about the aurora and taking photographs throughout the night. Despite everything, it was undoubtedly an experience that will remain in our memories.
