Even on our 45 minutes way out from Rovaniemi it is possible to see the Northern Lights
- Aurora Borealis if the weather is good. We will end up to a large lodge just in the middle of the wilderness where we can find toilets and facilities. Afterwards we have a little walk up the hill where a comfortable tepee is waiting for us. We make a fire in the tepee and enjoy warm beverages and barbeque while watching the sky. The guide shares information about Northern Lights and the old mythology around them. The arctic starry sky is very beautiful. Spot the Big Bear and Polar Star, Northern Lights often appear just under the Polar Star. Listen to the stories about local life and nature by living fire. Our Northern Lights trip has got excellent feedback already for years. This is because our Northern Lights spotting place is the best possible place where are no other lights at all, northern sky is fully open and the weather is often clear even if it is cloudy or foggy in the town. By our long experience the right hours to be out there is 11-12 PM. Anyway you need some luck to see the lights because it is unpredictable even during the trip! Great surprises happen! The likelihood is about 80% to see some kind of lights. Is it the highest in the world? We do not know but we think so

We’ve consistently received positive reviews for our Northern Lights excursion over the years. Our viewing location for the Northern Lights is optimal, free from any other light interference, offering an unobstructed view of the northern sky and maintains clear weather even when the town is shrouded in clouds or fog. From our extensive experience, the most ideal times for the outing are between 11 PM to 12 AM.
Expect the unexpected! There’s approximately an 80% probability you’ll witness some form of lights. Is this the highest probability globally? We can’t definitively say, but it’s a possibility!
Why should you opt for our guided trip? It boils down to being aware of the prime spot to track the lights. A common misconception is that observing the Northern Lights from a glass igloo improves the viewing experience. While sleeping in one is undoubtedly unique, it doesn’t actually enhance visualization of the lights. The optimal viewing spots and opportunities are on mountains and hills with an extensive northerly view and, crucially for photographers, are distant from all man-made lights.
