Colosseum and Ancient Rome Walking Tour - We had the best tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum with Gil. Walking inside the Colosseum was truly fascinating. Gil gave us so much information and history of these 2 landmarks. I would highly recommend this tour.

LivTours was great! - Great tour. LivTours really went above and beyond. We had this tour scheduled but then found out we had tickets to Vatican Necropolis which were unable to be changed. Ryan, with LivTours customer support, helped figure out how to make our tours possible and scheduled a pick up for a very specific time in order to get us to our Necropolis tour. (Note: Necropolis is a separate tour and booked directly with Excavations Office of the Fabbrica di San Pietro.) Our guide made sure we were at our pick up location, vans were waiting, and we were able to get to our next tour right in time. I highly recommend booking tours with LivTours!

Anna Lisa the perfect tour guide - Annalisa had a lot of historical details that she shared with us and to help us visualize the events of the past she told us stories and showed us photos from a book on the history of the Coliseum. She could even answer every off the wall historical question asked by the folks in the tour. We wished we were in Rome longer to take advantage of her future tour discount QR code. Anna Lisa also had the perfect spots for photo opportunities at the Coliseum.

Fun experience - Our guide was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The pace was fast enough that the kids didn't get bored and tired, but we still got to see and hear a lot of interesting things.

No regrets!! Get a guide. - Amazing! So many spots to take photos on lower and upper levels. Our tour guide Francesca was very friendly and informative. Her English was good and she pointed out so many details that you wouldn’t read about normally on a self-guided tour. She explained much of the Roman history. The Colosseum was impressive. We also saw Palatine Hill and went to the Roman Forum. All a must-see with a guide!

Expensive for what it is - The colosseum, forum, and palatine hill sell themselves; they are the most wonderful locations and the history is incredible. I would say the guided tour however looked to concentrate on walking past the most interesting parts quickly, and viewing from afar; particularly in the forum and palatine hill. The colosseum part could have concentrated on the actual building rather than showing us a book with pictures as we walked around; you don’t need a book, just let people view the building impart your knowledge as you are walking. fortunately my wife and I were able to pop off to have a proper look for a few moments in the colosseum, then after the tour ended we spent 2 extra hours looking at the forum and palatine hill on our own which was fantastic to explore. Skip the line is worth it though as the queues are massive!
