Highlights
  • Dilmun Burial Mounds - Start your Arabian horseback riding tour with an afternoon pickup from your hotel and relax during the 20-minute drive to the stables near the Bahrain Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2005). On arrival at the stables, you’ll sit down for a traditional Arabic coffee or tea accompanied by local delicacies (choose “snack package”).

Explore for yourself the “land of immortality”, the ancestral place of Sumerians and a meeting point of gods according to the Epic of Gilgamesh.

While professionals prepare the horses for the trail ride, take in the serenity of the majestic surroundings, where heritage and modern times meet. You’ll be paired with a tame horse that is well-suited to your skill level for the approximate 1-hour ride. After a safety briefing follow the same horse trails once used by Kassites, Greeks, Portuguese and Persians dating back from 2300 BC.

During the horseback trail ride, you’re surrounded by gorgeous views of the Bahrain Fort, silhouetted against the sunset.

Don't miss this,, you'll regret it. - Simply Excellent! Ali and the team put our safety and enjoyment at the top of their agenda. I hadn't ridden in years and they coached me back into it quickly. My horse was a gem.

Great trail ride... - The people running the equestrian were very nice. The ride itself by the Bahrain fort and into the beach area at sunset was very nice. After returning to the center after the ride we had chosen the option of Arabic snacks and tea...we were given a Styrofoam container with egg sandwiches and french fries...I just wasn't expecting that. I was thinking more of Arabic treats. That was a disappointment. Then the photo shoot with the decorated Arabian horse...that was interesting..the horse was beautiful, but I was also thinking they would take a nice photo, it turned out we were to just use our phones for the photos.....the pictures were O.K. I think if we went back we would just do the ride. The man running the equestrian center "Alex" was very nice and hospitable. Our driver "Wazeed" from the tour company was very nice and stayed by us the whole time, and a good driver for the company. All in all it was a good time, just the Arabic treats and tea was a let down.

Riding Into the Future - My husband, daughter and I had a fabulous time. I had not ridden since I was a teenager. My husband and daughter had never ridden. It was so much fun and relaxing. We had a great time. We’d scheduled for the 4:30 sunset ride. However, I received an email asking if we were amenable for a 3:00 ride. We didn’t mind and it turned out to be perfect. Our guide and my husband and daughter’s chaperone, Jamanuel, was amazing! He’s a professional...Has a great personality and we felt immediately comfortable with him. He took GREAT photos and made us laugh. Our only regret was not having Arabian tea, which I thought was to be included with the costs. Instead, we had snacks with Pepsi’s and water. Nonetheless, I would recommend this tour for all.

Beautiful Sunset on the beach! - I enjoy horseback riding and since I am here in Bahrain for a while I decided to sign up for this trip. I was picked up at the hotel and driven to the stables where I was able to see the horses and asked if I had any riding experience. Since I do have experience I was then directed to pick out a helmet and they would get me a horse ready. Most of the horses available are the horses used to teach students who are learning to ride meaning they aren't high spirited and were slow and steady. The man then had me walk up the steps to mount the horse and let me in the corral to make a lap or two to get used to the horse and how he responded. While I waited for the rest of the group that showed to saddle up, I was able to look around and see the Bahrain Fort in the distance and notice the green of the crops being grown nearby. Once the other riders were all ready we then proceeded to walk out of the corral and through the neighborhood towards the fort. We walked the horses around the fort and towards the museum (which I had toured a few weeks before) and towards the beach. Our group was rather large and not all riders were experienced which led to two of the young ladies having their horses led throughout the tour. Our group ended up being spread out and we didn't get the full ride on the beach as I would have liked. There were also lots of people on the beach as well which didn't help with getting good photos of us on the horses. We then headed back the way we had come and made it back right before it got really dark. After dismounting I was then shown to the waiting area for snacks and refreshments. I had time to look at the photos and articles on the walls as well as look at the trophies that were on the table. Then I was given a gown to put on so I could take photos with the horse (see attached photo) and then was free to leave once the driver showed back up. I did meet a few nice people who were there riding with me and one of the young ladies even took pictures with me. I am planning to go back again soon as it was relaxing riding the horse and going at a slow pace while enjoying the nice weather this time of year.

Good but overpriced - The tour itself was nice. The people working at the stables were very nice and the horses were beautiful and healthy. My rating is more for the price from viator. It costs so much less to book through the stables directly. We wasted so much money unknowingly by booking through this app. Lesson learned.

We were picked up from our hotel too early in the day (1.30pm in June!) for the sunset horseride - Sadly the times of our horse ride were moved a few times by the organisers and we were picked up eventually at 1.30pm for a sunset ride (in June!), therefore it was far too hot and early for us in the day (and the horses!) to go out. We are awaiting our return of monies as we didn't get to go out on the horses in the end which was a real shame as we had really looked forward to it.
