Fab day visiting the golden circle - Fab Golden circle trip yesterday. The trip is run by Greyline Tours and our guide was Bjorn. He was fab- loads of info throughout the trip. All three locations were absolutely beautiful. We had ample time at each. The lunch stops are pretty expensive so if you are trying to work to a budget bring a packed lunch. Easy quick & prompt pick up and drop off.

Excellent Tour, must do. - Great tour, a very well organised day trip in to Icelands spectacular interior with plenty of opportunities to experience and photograph stunning locations at three main areas. Each stop allows about an hour of free time to explore, two with associated high quality service, toilet, shop, cafe areas. Suitable for all walking abilities, at each point the main attraction is maybe 5 min walk from the parking area but further exploration is possible. Driving by driver Thomas very smooth, not easy to drive on some of these higher altitude snow covered mountain roads in challenging weather conditions. Guide Mateus very knowledgable on the general and natural history of Iceland and gave a brilliant and informative running commentary which really helped make the journey entertaining.

Superb trip once we were able to get on it ! - The Golden Circle Tour was amazing and very enjoyable , but sadly the organisation behind it was dreadful . We booked a tour for a Wednesday , I opened the app , and followed the blue dot on the map to the meeting point . No coach showed up . I phoned the London office who tried to get us on the tour again later in the day . As I was preparing to pay , I was told it was sold out ! We then booked for a Friday at 10 o clock . Having missed the first trip we were extra virulent in checking and rechecking the meeting point . We queued in said spot , outside our hotel doors . 10 o clock came and went yet again with no coach showing up to collect us . Yet more phone calls and again we were offered the midday tour with a feeder coach coming to our hotel . What happened , the coach went to a different hotel . Yet again , frantic phone calls . I was angry and disappointed in equal measure . Speaking to the London office yet again , I insisted that the coach must wait for us and that we would get a taxi to the bus hostel . This we did and got on the tour ten minutes late . We had three full days in Iceland and wanted to see as much as possible , I can’t begin to explain the stress and anxiety involved in getting on this trip . It was awful ! I would suggest that Viator take each customers number and phone them if they are not in the correct place .

Spectacular - Great value for money. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about Icelandic history, sharing this as we travelled to the main tour sites. The sites were spectacular and this trip made our visit to Iceland.

Scenic tour with a good guide - The waterfall is beautiful, but would wear clampons so can walk on the paths to get a good view. The geysers are fun to watch. The National park was amazing to hear about and view. Good guide and amazing scenery. Would include a stop at one of the lagoons- Fontana or Secret as both looked interesting as we dropped others off.

The amazing Golden circle - On a clear day the views are absolutely spectacular, with distant mountains a joy to behold ,,,, the actual destinations really have to be seen especially the Golden waterfalls, make sure you warm clothing & then you can simply enjoy the experience

Pay a little more for a smaller tour group. - Locations and views were spectacular. The only issue is that because it was such a big tour bus, it was very impersonal and the guide was very soft spoken and timid in her talks, so it made it difficult to hear what she had to say (and that was over the microphone).

I wanted to love this tour but.... - I want to love this tour but by the end I had a huge headache. First the company needs to better explain the pickup/dropoff process. I had read previous reviews that had missed their pickup so luckily I called the day before to confirm. I was told the company would send either a Grayline Bus or a "green" bus to pickup from the hotel. I was told to be outside at 9:25 AM. 9:30 arrives and no pickup by either bus, however, several other vans and buses had pulled up in front of the hotel. All say Reykjavik Tours, Glacier and Airport. At 9:40 I contact the tour company and they assured me the bus was on its way. 9:48 a "green" colored city bus pulls up and I had to go to the driver and ask if this was the correct transportation. This bus then takes you to Grayline where you will get on the actual tour bus, I would just advise bookers if in doubt, ask every bus and van that pulls up to your stop if they have you on the list. Drop off, the tour guide just starts yelling out bus stops numbers. I had no idea what bus stop we would be dropped off at since we had been picked up at the hotel. I finally pulled up Google maps and just found one close to the hotel. Secondly, while the tour guide was very knowledgeable about Iceland and history, she talked the whole 8 hours of the tour. At times, I just wanted to look at the scenery and enjoy the bus ride. I don't think anyone on the ride had a clue at times what she was talking about because we had all just stopped listening. Please limit the information given on a tour to perhaps a few details about the locations visited. Talking for 8+ hours about history from the 1100's is not necessary and ruined the entire trip.

They will steal your money and waste your time - THIS COMPANY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND WASTE YOUR TIME We booked a golden circle tour with Gray Line Iceland even after reading their bad reviews but we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, we then confirmed pick up from our hotel. On the day we arrived 30 minutes early before pick up to ensure we were on time, after waiting another hour no bus labelled Gray Line showed up. We then decided to call customer services, the woman on the phone said that a green bus had supposedly arrived for us, the whole time we were there, the only bus that showed up was a bus that had a “Northern Lights” sign on it and also said “Airport Transfer” we also could see no Gray Line label on this bus. Obviously we didn’t get on the bus as we booked a golden circle tour not a Northern lights tour or airport transfer. Our names were not called out by any drivers. So the woman said that we could either rebook the tour for the next day or could email and get a refund, after emailing Gray Line, I have had repetitive sarcastic replies from the customer service manager who is refusing us a refund as apparently the bus turned up, I have made the point of saying, it doesn’t matter if the bus turned up, why would we get on a bus that was labelled completely incorrectly and didn’t call out our name? We wanted a golden circle tour not airport transfer like it said! I have never experienced such awful customer service in my life. He showed 0 care for our situation and when I addressed my issues I was completely ignored. After replying once again trying to state my points, I discovered they had blocked my emails!! How unprofessional and nasty of them, to steal money from people and then block them. I will be taking this up with higher services as it is no way acceptable. Listen to my advice and DO NOT book with Gray Line, book with a much better company like Special tours Iceland and don’t make the same mistake we did. Shame on you Gray Line
