Highlights

Day 1: Snaefellsnes area and Vatnshellir Cave

Your 2-day adventure tour starts with a morning pick up from the Reykjavik downtown area. From the capital you will drive along the scenic west coast to West Iceland. The first stop of the day will be at the small fishing village of Arnarstapi, where you will walk around and explore the surrounding area. From there we go underground, where you have an option (extra fees apply) to go into Vatnshellir cave which is located inside the Snæfellsnes National Park. The cave is about 8000 years old lava tube tunnel. This experience is as close you will get to the Jules Verne story, A Journey to the Center of Earth. If you are not joining the caving part, then the guide will take you walking around the area. Next up is Hellnar where you will stop for lunch (own expense) before continuing to the beautiful Djupalonssandur beach. There you will go on a short hike on the pebbles stone beach and explore the remains of the ship wreckage. On the beach, you may also find the lifting stones, where you can test your strength like the fishermen used to do in the good old days. If the forecast looks promising, then you will have the possibility to go hunt for the Northern Lights in the evening.

From Djupalonssandur, you will then continue your journey around Snaefellsnes peninsula, making a stop at the iconic and famous Mt. Kirkjufell, a favorite spot for many photographers

Amazing two days in Iceland - The trip was well timed and our guide Vjorn was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We saw the south coast which included water falls, black beach, diamond beach, glacial cave, glacial lagoon… and Vjorn made couple of additional stops… one of them was the most beautiful canyon I ever saw.

Best Tour ever - THE BEST TOUR I’ve ever been on. Casper (Bob) our guide had such a friendly, sociable and passionate energy, making sure everyone had the smoothest and most enjoyable journey ever together. Although I was travelling solo, I really felt the family vibe and cannot recommend this tour more. Sights were incredible - I could stare out the window all day! Thankyou Casper 🙏

Amazing 2-Day Snaefellsnes Peninsula Trip - The country was beautiful! Vjeran, our guide, was amazing and had a great personality. My husband said they should have Vjeran train all the guides. He knew the history and customs of his country and shared all kinds of fascinating information with our tour and kept us entertained during the bus rides. He warned our tour if there was anything we should be careful about an all of our stops. He was very personable and I think he knew everyone's first name on the first day. When we arrived at a particular location, he knew all the great photo locations and pointed them out. He said he was our selfie-stick and took great photos of the people on our tour. The only disappointment was that we didn't see the Northern Lights, but that is to be expected sometimes. Just gives us another reason to visit again....and hope we get Vjeran for our guide again.
